The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):

The part worked fine, installing it was a bear
The blender drive coupling was just what I needed. However taking the blender apart to put the piece on was super difficult, and I am pretty astute mechanically. It required a table vice and a slip jawed pliers. A screwdriver simply did not do the trick. Thankfully I was able to see other people performing similar repairs on YouTube and I have the right tools to get it done. The blender is back in service. Thank you

Was not able to get the original part off so I guess have a spare now
It was impossible to get the original part off as I tried to follow the video instructions of tapping it off with a skew driver. Then I tried the vice grips on the coupling and using a leveraged flathead screwdriver from the bottom (on the opposite side) and it would not budge. Yes, I made sure I was spinning it the correct direction. Not wanting to cause damage to the blender I just left it in.
I also purchased a new pitcher and top and the blender now works fine.
It would have been nice to get the Coupling in to make it like new but at least it works now, and that part was only like $5. The total cost of repair including shipping was around $140, so one could argue that perhaps I should have purchased a new blender, but this blender worked so well for 10 years and it cost like $250 new.

Coupling
My repair was a disaster. I was unable to remove the old part and Kitchenaid was totally abysmal in their attempt to help. Discarded the KitchenAid blender and bought a new one - different brand,

The old coupling was not removable to replace with new one.
Simply not possible ! I read reviews from other who have tried to remove the old coupling and not one seems to have succeeded. Unfortunately, you have to buy the coupling , 7$, and also the jar which has the incorporated blade, 87$ in order to complete the repair.
Seeing that the coupling can’t be replaced, you are stuck with

My recommendation, when the blender stops working, don’t waste your money buying these replacement parts, throw the old blender away. I ended buying a Ninja bender for 100$ that works a lot better than the old Kitchenaid.
The driver (coupling) on my Kitchenaid Blender disintegrated.
I decided to see if I could dislodge the faulty coupling. I placed a screw driver under the coupling and pushed up. It dislodged. Subsequently I found a youtube video that indicated that was exactly what I should do. I ordered the part from parts select and placed the coupling on my blender. It screws in counterclockwise. It works

coupling got chewed up
to replace the coupling you take the bottom off the blender and loosen the screws that hold the bracket and fan -then comes the hard part-the shaft screw is bolted through every bit of the guts then into the coupling. It is a lefthand thread. I ended up having to fabricate a piece of metal that slipped into the top of the coupling (in the

Then I secured the metal piece-it was just a twi inch piece of steel- in the vise, I held the blender and I got a big guy to attack the shaft bolt with a bunch of pressure and a straight screwdriver. It finally popped and I was able to unscrew the old coupling and replace it with the new. Reminds of when guys put on lug nuts and I have to try and get them off. But I saved at least $100.

teeth worn out from high speed ice crush
Put masking tape around the coupling and put the coupling in a vise upside down. took the bottom apart and unscrewed the main shaft screw. ITS LEFT HAND THREAD!!! Screw on new coupling and put the bottom back on.The masking tape is just to protect the finish.

I ordered the plastic part number PS11751771. The old one won’t come out!
I saw reviews and no one seems to have figured out how to remove it !
How can I remove it in order to replace with new one. I also ordered the expensive jar part PS11756236. This jar is of no use if I can’t replace the bottom coupling.
For model number KSB560WHO
Hello Alain, thank you for your question. We did find a repair story that may help. " I ended up taking the bottom off of the unit and using a vise grip secured to the screw on the bottom of the motor fan and a pair of channel locks on the old coupler. The unit was laying on its side so that the vise grip was holding the fan in place against the counter top. I easily grabbed the coupler with the channel locks as it was slightly raised from the base surface. I cranked the coupler with a clockwise turn and it came right off. I installed the new coupler in seconds which automatically tightened upon running the unit with the jar. We hope this helps
