This AC synchronous motor is a genuine OEM replacement part specially made for microwaves. It operates on an alternating current, and it is responsible for rotating the turntable to ensure even heating of your food. The motor can fail due to physical damage or malfunctioning internal components such as the bearings. If your turntable is not rotating, you will need to replace the motor. You can find it underneath the microwave cavity, near the center. Disconnect the microwave from the power source and remove the cover. Turn the microwave over and remove the bottom panel to access the motor. Disconnect the motor from its mounting location, and then insert the new motor in its place. Ensure the new motor is securely attached before reassembling the appliance.

Motor Burned Out On Turntable
My 8 year old daughter cleaned the inside of the microwave with enough water to rival a tsunami. Resulted in a clean microwave with a fried out motor that no longer revolved. Part came quickly. Took cover and bottom off to get to the part. One screw held it on and a plug. Removed those, put on new part and she was good to go. No trip to home depot today. Read more...

This turntable motor is for microwaves. The turntable motor rotates the glass tray inside the microwave oven. Because high-voltage capacitors in a microwave can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the microwave is unplugged, a service technician should install this part.

Turntable did not turn when anything on top
Turn off the circuit breaker to the microwave. Remove the 4 black wood screws that secure the microwave to the cabinet. Pull the microwave all the way out and set it on something that leaves you access to the middle access panel on the bottom. Remove the access panel on the bottom that has one screw. Turn table motor malfunctioning, noisy and intermittent.
My oven is installed above the counter making it a bit difficult to reach the screws closest to the wall. Instructions should note that both harnesses need to be disconnected and that there are two screws, not one holding the motor. This one issue made it frustrating since that screw is located towards the back away from your vision. This is when the flash light and a bit of contortions were required. Read more...

the carousel in the turntable would not work
I had previously determined the like culpit was the synchronous motor. The roller guide had flat spots on each roller. Order parts from Part Select - pretty good price, parts were delivered in 3 days - much faster than I expected. Printed out a parts diagram from their website and grabbed my screwdriver. Also needed a pair of side cutters to cut the metal web that held the motor cover in place - only need to unscrew screw that hold the cover in place (bottom), cut the metal connectors, remove the plate and unscrew the screw holding the motor in place, pull out old unit, replace with new motor and secure the motor with the screw. Put the cover in place and secure - put the microwave back on the counter, pluf it in, put something in the oven and start her up. Took less than 15 minutes and cost me $50 for the parts. Great deal and easy to do. Read more...

Microwave making really loud noises when operating
This is the second time I've had this problem-once while it was still under warranty and now this time. Quite annoying noise but super easy to fix (just remember to unplug the appliance first!). I used the flashlight to help find the screws as my microwave is installed over the range.
My vent motor has also gone out...maybe I'll tackle that next!
