Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This manufacturer-certified dryer lint filter is used to collect lint during the dryer cycle, to prevent damage to the machine and to prevent lint from sticking to clothes. This model comes in white and is easy to install. It slides into the lint filter slot in your dryer. If there is visible damage to the screen then it's time to replace the part. Check your user manual and model number to see if this is the right part for you. Make sure you empty the lint filter after every use of the dryer and check the filter slot for an excess buildup of lint, which can shorten the life of your filter and be a fire hazard. The screen is approximately 20 inches in length, not including the handle, and around 8.5 inches wide.

The handle would not seat" , with the old dryer lint slot. Had to remove the handle and leave the medal holder , to which the handle was popped on, by slot and hooks.
I inserted the sharp kniife point, pryed back a flap , thus releasing the nylon locking hook, in the slot. then did the other side...I removed the white plastic handle, leaving the metal frame, which lay more flat in the filter channel. I put a box of screws on top of the dryer flap to keep it snug.. this is a Kenmore about 15 years old.

What is the length of srceen?

Hey i seen what my replacement is and all the cross reference part numbers are on your site here. Thank you Whirlpool for providing us customers with such information. Greatly appreciated!! however i do have one question if you don't mind. i know it is not advised, warrantied, or in any way shape or form whirlpools responsibility if anything on the product shall go wrong if any modifications are made. in saying that, can one possibly make his own lint filter? or as i've known them to be called "lint trap". seems like all id need is measurements, some screen material, the existing lint filter frame or in my case find a way to add about 3" onto the bottom of it considering i was cut off from a lousy appliance repairman in my old town before i moved. i'd normally just take it back and have them fix it. i'm rather good with my hands, tools, and mechanical/operational background. i've restored classic muscle cars since i was younger which progressed into a passion/career. plus little (tinkering) things like such gives me just the right amount of free time away to myself that i need in my crazy life. thank you much.

A mi secadora ya le cambie 3 veses el fusible de la resistencia se lo cambio nuevo trabaja alrededor de 30 minutos y se quema ya cheque la tuberia de salida y todo esta limpio tendre q cambiar el termostato y el fusible a la vez o cual seria su recomendacion gracias
