The range thermostat is also commonly known as a stove, oven, cooktop, or range thermal fuse. This thermostat protects your oven from excessive heating, and will shut the oven heat off if excessive heating is detected. This is a genuine part sourced directly from the original manufacturer. You may need to replace this part if your appliance will not heat properly. It is made of metal and is approximately 1 inch in diameter. This part is sold individually. It is recommended to order a spare, especially if you commonly use the self-cleaning function in your oven.

Microwave Limit Thermostat For Cooling Fan
★★★★★
★★★★★
1 Review
PartSelect Number PS3409411
Manufacturer Part Number 318578506
This authentic OEM high-limit thermostat, also known as a limit switch or cooling fan thermostat, serves as a safety feature to prevent the oven from overheating. It monitors the temperature inside the oven and activates the cooling fan when the temperature exceeds a certain limit. The cooling fan helps dissipate heat and maintain a safe temperature. The high-limit thermostat is usually situated inside the top panel. If the high-limit thermostat is broken or faulty, the cooling fan may fail to turn on, leading to excessive heat buildup inside the oven. You might also notice that your food cooks unevenly since the oven struggles to maintain the desired temperature. In some cases, if the high-limit thermostat is completely non-functional, the oven may not heat up at all. You can test the sensor at room temperature by measuring the resistance between the two prongs at the end of the sensor connector. The resistance should read approximately 1080 - 1090 ohms at room temperature. To access the thermostat, refer to your user guide for detailed instructions. Generally, you need to ensure the power is disconnected at the breaker, lift the top panel on its hinges, remove the screws on the plate under the burners, take out the burners and plate, disconnect the wires from the old thermostat, and remove the mounting screws to release it. Please note that the replacement part is sold separately from the cooling fan.

Thermostat for oven cook elements. Cooling fan is a misnomer-the fan still worked!
First of all I am not Betty, I am her husband. Second I and a friend pulled the range out of the countertop (which was not necessary). The top can be raised on it hinges and the plate under the burners can be removed by taking out 8 to 19 screws and there is the thermostat looking at you. After doing this once and knowing where the thermostat is, the job could be done in less that an hour.. INSTRUCTIONS: Turn OFF the circuit breaker. Remove the burners. Remove the plate under the burners. Change the thermostat (making sure to place in correct direction as the one removed). Reassemble, turn on circuit breaker, test oven heat. Read more...

Microwave would run for 30 seconds and shut off
Thermal switch on top of Magnetron was defective, spade contacts were burned and loose. New switch $6 +shipping. Removed top cover held on with several Philips head screws. Plugged unit in and gave it 30 seconds to test the fan was working, it was. Put 500ml water in cavity, ran it for 60 seconds, which after fiddling with wires it did, and got over 20C temp rise so magnetron was working (detailed instructions online). Switch is right on top of magnetron. Tried to remove spade lugs but lugs pulled out of switch so I cut the lugs off and removed the broken switch. Screwed down new switch using old hardware. Trimmed wires back and cleaned them. Used crimping tool to put on new spade lugs from car parts store. put heat shrink over lugs and wires to strain relief and buttoned the unit up. Microwave works fine and oven baked a cake so good repair. Read more...

This is a high limit thermostat designed for use within various models of microwaves. The purpose of a high limit thermostat is to open the circuit of the appliance when the internal temperature reaches a certain threshold, to avoid becoming a safety hazard. If this thermostat fails or is damaged, it will cause your microwave to stop operating entirely. This is not to be confused with a thermal fuse, which is a one-time use component, whereas this high-limit thermostat resets once it drops back below operating temperatures. But if your microwave has repeatedly shut off, it is defective, or if the manufacturer recommends you replace it after it is triggered, it needs to be replaced immediately for safe operation. Consider inspecting your microwave for other component damage or factors that could lead to your microwave overheating, because that is what is causing this thermostat to be triggered. Replacing the high-limit thermostat will require a flathead and/or Philips-head screwdriver to remove the cover for the electronics of the microwave. First, you will want to unplug your microwave from the wall outlet and use your screwdriver to remove the side/top cover to give you access within it. Using your user manual, locate the thermostat within the main panel assembly and disconnect it from the wire harnesses, which may require a set of pliers. Here you can inspect it and any other components for visible burn damage. You can also test this thermostat for continuity with a multimeter, to see whether it is burnt out or perhaps defective. Install the new thermostat in place and reassemble your microwave, and you can now microwave safely.

Thermostat bad....but couldn't fix it
My grandfather who is well versed as an electrician checked my microwave out because it wasn't worked. He used a multimeter to check electric current to parts in the microwave. He said a specific thermostat was not getting any current going through. I ordered that replacement part from this site and when it came in it didn't have current running through it either. He said he thought the part that was given to me was faulty. I called this companies number to ask some questions but the machine said they aren't taking any inquiry calls because of the pandemic right now. So I currently don't know what the problem is with my microwave. I want to return the part but unfortunately during Christmas time the packaging got thrown away. So as of right now I'm out the part money and probably money to buy a new appliance. Read more...

This thermostat (part number DE47-20059B) is for microwaves. Thermostat DE47-20059B is a safety device that shuts off the microwave if it overheats. Because high-voltage capacitors in a microwave can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the microwave is unplugged, a service technician should install this part.
