Inglis Washer Timer 60hz
Seeing the part number, I then ordered the part from PartSelect.com.
While waiting for the part I tried to research how to remove the timer knob, but none of the online help I found was correct- the knob does not unscrew, but is held in place by a black plastic "keeper" on the back of the timer. The removal instructions are printed on the timer.
When the timer arrived I unscrewed the 2 screws at the back and edge of the console panel. Then the panel lifts up and out, exposing the timer. I released the knob, then removed a small screw beneath the knob that holds the timer.
Then I unplugged the wiring harness from the timer and removed it. I then reversed these procedures and installed the new timer.
As it turned out, the problem was not with the timer at all, but rather a defective lid switch, which is also located under the console panel.
Once I replaced the lid switch (very easy), the washer worked perfectly again.
Despite my imperfect initial diagnosis, a very satisfying experience.
Thanks for the great service.

washer would not run
First, I removed the two screws that hold the back-top in place. I removed the top to get to the control timer. I replaced the control timer with a new part and replaced the lid switch (which I broke removing the old one). Put it all back together and still nothing. I removed the two spring U clamps at the top back that hold the entire casing in place. I removed the casing. I checked out the wires leading to the motor and the white wire showed signs of a burn. When touching this wire it broke off. I used a pigtale from the connector to the old wire, soldered it in place and put it all back together AND, WOW, LUCKY ME it has been working since. washer not cycling or working on all cycles.
On my model You have to first lift the control panel in order to remove timer knob.I removed control panel by prying on the ends of panel one at a time with putty knife and rag to keep from scratching washer. I then use needle nose pliers to pull plastic under side of knob while pulling on knob which is the trickiest part of the job as knob will not come of til it is pulled from underside with needle nose pliers to release it then its easy from that point to disconnect wires and slide timer to the left to unlock it and in stall new timer. You have to take your time doing the repair and it will work out better for you. After replacing timer machine works on all cycles and completes entire cycle. Thank You PartSelect!

timer bad no spin
design was on my side. the washer was structured that when you removed the screws that held down the upper timer cover, it would pivot rearward and you could gain access to the switch. you would carfully remove the knob set pin. remove knob, remove retaining screw. Slide timer sideways out of the engagement groove. remove wire connector. and with the new timer, do in reverse order. awesome site which was the ONLY site I actually found my model number for such an old washer. It even had the schematic that helped identify the assembly process. I will do business now the parts select for all my appliance needs for parts.

the timer died to where i manually had to run it
I took the back part off, had to use socket wrench and screw driver, lifted the top off, then I took the knob off, had to use the pliers to squeeze the ends together to take it off. then I took off the wire harness. Had to use the socket wrench . Took off the old timer and went in reverse to hook it all back together.
