This is an inlet valve for various washing machines. Inlet valves are responsible for opening and closing as needed, to allow water to enter the washer during the washing cycle. This inlet valve features a hot and cold-water valve, as well as the necessary wire harness to easily plug it in. Since inlet valves are an electrically controlled solenoid valve, they can fail either due to electrical failure such a short, or after long, extended use. If your inlet valve fails, your washer will likely relay an error code, or it simply will not wash your clothes due to the lack of water, and the valves will need to be replaced. Replacing this valve will require a screwdriver and/or socket wrench, and some disassembly of your washer will be necessary. This inlet valve is an individually sold OEM part and does not come with any accessories or other parts.

Admiral Washer Valve
PartSelect Number PS12349269
Manufacturer Part Number W11210463
This is a water inlet valve for models of Whirlpool washing machines. The water inlet valve is designed to regulate and control the water entering the appliance depending on the cycle, using an electrical device called a solenoid. This water inlet valve features two inlets, one for hot water and one for cold, as well as a wire harness to power and control the electric solenoid of each. If your washer is having issues with filling, the inlet valve is likely bad or potentially worn out and in need of replacement. Replacing this valve will require a screwdriver, wrench, and pliers. Water would overflow from the top of the machine
The repair was very easy. Remove a few screws, switch wiring one at a time so I put them in the correct position and replace. The hose replacement was easy at the swicth but a little more difficult at the lower end of the tub due to limited space. Overall an easy job and now it works fine!

Admiral Washer Water Inlet Valve
Remove the inlet hoses and put in bucket to catch water.
Remove the two screws that hold the inlet valve in place.
Remove the wires from the inlet valve. (One of the spade connectors one wire broke and I had to replace it.) I used needle nose pliers to pull the spade connectors off.
Remove the outlet hose.
Throw out old valve assembly.
Attach hose to new valve assembly. (My old valve assy outlet was slightly smaller in diameter than the new valve, but I was able to get the outlet hose to stretch enough to fit--couldn't use old spring clamp though, but new valve came with a hose clamp--worked fine.)
Attach wires same way as they cam off old valve.
Position and use the two screws to screw assy back into back of washing machine. (The screws had to tap the holes on the valve, so start out a little hard.)
Reattach the inlet hoses and check for leaks.
I also ran both the hot and cold in a cycle and the reraised the top to check for any leaks internal to the machine.
Pus the top back down to engage its fastening clips.
Job done.
My washing machine is 23 years old. Read more...
