Trimmer Edger Blade This Edger Blade is a black, metal blade which is sold individually and comes certified from the manufacturer. Installation is rated as "Easy" and requires a socket set and wrench set. This blade attaches to the drive shaft and is used for edging the grass around driveways and walkways. If this part becomes worn/fatigued/damaged (which may happen after hitting the pavement) you will notice an odd vibration and poor trimming, at which time the part should be replaced.

Its purpose is to cut off excess or protruding string during operation, keeping the string at an optimal length within the guard. Over time, the blade can become dull or worn out, showing signs of deformation, bends, or cracks. A damaged blade will affect the machine performance, resulting in untidy or poorly trimmed areas as excessive string is released outside the guard. To replace the blade, use a screwdriver to unthread the screw securing it. The blade is sold individually, while the hardware is sold separately.

Trimmer Cutter Blade The Cutter Blade (or Cutting blade) is a 7-3/4 inch, silver, metal blade which comes sold in a set of two. They require pliers, and a socket set to install and are rated as "Easy" to install by users. These blades are used for edging level ground sidewalks and driveways. If the part is broken or damaged due to wear from general use, they will become dull and will need to be sharpened or replaced. They attach to the cutting shaft. Refer to your make, model and diagrams to ensure this is the correct part.
