part was missing when I moved in house
The missing part caused a problem with water leaking. The replacement fixed the problem and it was ordered on a Sunday and I received it on Tuesday WITHOUT express shipping. It was easy to locate the part. I would order from them again.

Perfect part
Exactly what we need at a great price! The only problem was shipping took 8 days. It started in Tallahassee, FL and ended up going all the way up to Ohio before coming back down to me in Northwest Florida.

Costly and short term fix
The part cost $15.00 which included postage. This part is a well known defective issue for this GE dishwasher. The part lasts approximately 2 years then it must be replaced. Please find a permanent fix!

Nice part...doesn't fit
Unfortunately the threads on this vent plug do not extend far enough to engage the vent plug threads in the door. Parts list shows this to be the correct plug.

Vent cover will not stay attached. Comes off when you open the door.
For model number DDT595SSJ2SS
Hi Jim,
Thank you for your question. If the vent cover is not staying attached to the door, it is likely worn and you will need to replaced it. I would also check to make sure the seal is not defective and check the area on the door where it attaches to to see if there is an issue there. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

I have an issue with the vent cover coming loose. I have ordered a new cover piece, but do i need to order the inside piece with the threading? It is very flimsy but for whatever reason the cap will not screw on. I received an email saying this happens as the part is worn, but how does something that is never used, screwed on or off, or even touched wear?
For model number CDT865SSJSS
Hi Bill,
Thank you for your question. The part with the threading is referred to as the transition piece. The part number for it is PS12170922. There is a seal that goes on the transition piece that may also need to be replaced. The part number for it is PS8688151. Overtime, the heat produced from the dishwasher during the cleaning and drying cycles, may cause these parts to become worn. When this happens, they may not fit correctly as they did before and they will need to be replaced. If you would like to place an order for these parts, you may order them either online or by calling our customer service line and anyone will be happy to assist you. We hope this helps! If you have any questions, please let us know.
I have exactly the same problem that the vent cap on the GE cafe dishwasher keeps popping off. I can't even use the dishwasher. It's was only a year old when it happened the first time. Saw online that many are having the same problem. Just called GE and they are going to charge me hundreds of dollars to fix it even though it is obviously something faulty with the design if others are having the same issue. Is there replacement with maybe a longer thread?
For model number CDT835SSJ2SS
Hi Audrey,
Thank you for your question. This would be the only vent cap listed for this model. The vent cap is likely worn and it will need to be replaced. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

My vent cover from the door has come off, causing a leak. Threads are good, nothing stripped, so I don’t know why. Threads are not very deep, poor design. I have 27 years as an aerospace mechanic, so I can re-install the vent. Which adhesive sealant do you recommend? Thank you.
For model number GDT655SGJ2WW
Hello Gerry, thank you for the great question. We suggest using the silicon rubber adhesive sealant, part number PS11740605. We hope this is what you were looking for!
