Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
Dishwasher Door Gasket w/Strike (Black) Specifications
This dishwasher door gasket and strike kit is an essential component for maintaining a watertight seal around the dishwasher door and ensuring proper latch operation. The gasket prevents water leakage by forming a tight seal between the door and the tub, while the strike works as a mechanical actuator for the door switch and provides tension for a secure seal. Over time, wear and tear may cause tears, gaps, or cuts in the gasket, leading to leaks. This genuine OEM replacement kit is compatible with select models of Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Maytag, Jenn-Air, Amana, Inglis, and Magic Chef dishwashers. For proper installation, unplug the dishwasher or turn off the circuit breaker to ensure safety. Refer to the installation guide or video for step-by-step instructions, and wear protective gloves while replacing the gasket and strike.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money
Why buy the real thing?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Simply put, this means that the company who made your appliance is also supplying the replacement part for it.

Installed in less that five minutes
The leak at the base of the old gasket stop immediate upon replacement with this part.
The cost of self-installment is about 1/3rd the cost of a service call.
The gasket is well made and a tight seal.
Average service call is $150.00 plus parts. I figure I save at least $150.00

This was the right part and the video instructions were most helpful. After buying this part, I was able to fix the leak in my dishwater (which has not been used x 2 years due to this leak) and saved myself the cost of a repair visit and possibly savings on the part.

Rattling noise during one of the cycles
First watched the video! 1. Shut off breaker. 2. Shut off water inlet and disconnected the input and output lines. 3. Removed the upper and lower dish trays as shown in videos. 4. Disconnected hardwired electrical connections. 5. Lowered the dishwasher with adjusting feet. 6. Removed dishwasher onto a 2mm appliance floor prote
... Read morection mat. 7. Removed the motor housing per the video. 8. It was easier to lay dishwasher on its back to remove the old and insert the new motor. 9. Also installed new drain motor per video. 10. Difficulty pressing the motor with new seal into the housing. Used small amount of food grade synthetic grease to assist - it did help and no leaks. 11. Would recommend taking photos of all electrical connections before starting the removal process, so there is not wire color mix up. 12. After reinstalling the dishwasher, tried to install a new door gasket W10542314, but this was very difficult and leaked drips on one side. I followed the video, but it did not easily push in by hand. After multiple tries, I cleaned the old seal and reinstalled it just as the video shows - no leaks after several runs. All in all, Appliance Parts has always supplied perfect fitting parts, so I think the specs from the manufacture may be off or the old style for our 24-year-old dishwasher is no longer available. Love the help videos and wouldn't try an appliance repair without watching them.

Leak around door
Installed new gasket and striker. By not pushing the gasket in all the way , as it is intended to, it stopped the leak. The gasket is made to push in partways or all the way. Worth the money!

Bad door seal
Took longer to open package than to fix. Just had to press the seal back in. Was very pleased how fast the seal came. Thought 60.00 was a lot for a rubber seal but that's cheaper than a new washer.

I ordered a replacement gasket for my dishwasher, it is to take ps5136129 part, but new part w10542314 is too big and i can not get it into the section and the door refuses to closes. Can i get the original part or am i doing something wrong.
For model number MDBH969AWB5
Hello Michael, thank you for your question. The part number W10542314 is the correct and only replacement gasket for this unit. The original is no longer available. However, this is the correct replacement and will work with your model. You may need to remove the gasket and verify that you're starting with the correct end of the gasket on the correct side. If the gasket is turned around it won't fit into the channel. Check out our installation video at this link!

I am not having leaking issues (yet) but the door seal is stretched out and drying out, so looking to replace it. I notice the ends of the seal are flanged out where they seat into the bottom corners of the door, but i don't see such a "flange" at the ends of this seal- does the "flange" just get made by pressing the seal into that area? Thx! -maryo.
For model number GU1500XTLT2
Hi Mary,
Thank you for your inquiry. The flanges that you are talking about should already be a part of the gasket when you get it. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
