Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This bake element is used in ranges and located at the bottom of the oven. The bake element supplies heat for baking. If your symptoms include: your oven is not heating evenly, not starting, or the heating is not consistent, then replacing the element can be the solution. Remove two retaining screws, make sure to disconnect the two connecters at each end of the element, and replace with the new one. Before starting this replacement, make sure the range is unplugged from the power source or shut off from the house circuit breaker. The tool needed is a Phillips screwdriver.

Oven bake element blew out
Shut off the power from the fuse box. Removed p the two screws and plate that attach the element to the wires and back of oven. Installed the replacement element by attaching the wires and reinserting the two screws. Restored power and tested the new element by preheating the oven at 350 degrees and letting it heat for 15 minutes. Works

Bake element burned out
My husband (a retired tool & die maker) easily removed the old bake element after first turning off the circuit. Replaced bake element
Needed to drill two new holes for fastening the element to the oven wall. Change in design. Enlarged the holes in the spade connections since I was unable to find smaller bolts than 4-40. I would suggest to make the holes in the spade connections larger. The change out was not a problem.

Broken baking (not broiling) element
I shut off the power at the circuit breaker. I loosened the screws securing the baking element to the back wall. I then pulled out the baking element toward me and found the wire leads bolted using self-tapping screws to the original element. Since the holes on the mounting tabs did not take the old screws, I had to drill out the holes on

After securely bolting the leads to either terminal on the element, I had to drill two holes on the back wall for the mounting plate of the new element. Then I used the cordless drill with the Philips bit to drive in stainless steel self-tapping screws (not zip screws) to secure the element to the back wall. I turned on the power at the circuit breaker and reset the clock (mechanical).

The bake elemement burned out & the clips for the top element were broken
The bake element basically just plugs in remove the two screws in the back with a nut driver pull the element out unplug the spade connectors and reconnect the new element . 13.5 inches width, 15.75 inches length from mounting bracket to the end of the element, 2.875 inches length from bracket to the terminal end, 1.75 inches mounting holes center to center. We hope this information helps!

Hello Jeanne, Thank you for the question. I Suggest testing the Oven Sensor, PartSelect Number PS236043. Testing the temperature sensor probe on your oven is easy. With the sensor at room temperature, measure the resistance between the two prongs at the end of the sensor connector. The resistance of the sensor should read approximately 1080 – 1090 ohms at room temperature. Thank you for your inquiry, good luck with this repair!
