switch replacement of stove cooktop
I had a problem with it.
it did not look like the original witch gave me some concern
and the fact that there were not directions or explanation
I had to get help and with it was able to get though it.
the switch thank god works nice.
I hope if I have to buy another one, it comes with directions
rather than just throw a switch in a box

The switch for one of the electric burners burnt
I shut POWER OFF FIRST and tested it be fore I started. I left all but one wire intact on the old switch and when the new one arrived I made sure it was the right one(it was) and then I just removed one wire at a time from old switch to the new one. After the install was complete turned power back on tested it and it worked. Good luck!
Turned off electricity to the stove top opened up the aluminum cover under the stove top with the screwdriver Took off the wires one at a time with the pliers as they were on tight and replaced them on the new part Replaced the aluminum cover Turned on electricity and voila it worked fine no sparking

Burner would consistantly go to high no matter where the dial was positioned.
First I unplugged the stove.Removed the upper control panel back (10 phillips screws). Removed the plastic dial( pulls straight off). Removed the 2 screws behind the dial that is holding the switch in the control panel. Took one wire at a time off the old switch and put them on the new switch according to each electrical spade marking. L1

Plugged the stove back in and tested it. Note: My new switches shaft was 1/8 of an inch longer so it does put the dial a little further away from the control panel. Wife says: It's OK, don't worry about it.

One of the switches on my stove had quit exept for High. every level on the switch was high.
First I removed the 2 screws that held it in place. Then I took te screws out of the backguard cover and pulled it down so that I would get to it. Then I unplugged the wires, and replugged them on the new switch, then screwed it back in to the range, then put all the screws back in backguard cover, and plugged the range back up and p

How do i take apart the panel to get at the switch
For model number FES367AQH
Hello Paul, thank you for your question. To replace this switch, you will want to turn the power off to the unit then pull the burner knob off the switch shaft you are replacing. There will be a couple of Phillips screws behind the knob that can be removed. Then pull the unit out and remove the back access panel that covers the back of the stove. Once the back panel is removed the switch can be taken out and the wires removed from the terminals. The new switch can then be installed. I hope this helps!

The two large cooking elements on 790.41209903 both seem to have issue of control
they will keep getting hotter even when you turn down to lower setting. One isn't as bad as the other the one on front we don't use its so bad and one on back is manageable. Is this a control switch issue?
For model number 790.41209903
Hello Robert and thanks for writing.
It sounds more like your infinite switch is damaged. An infinite switch, simmerstat, energy regulator or infinite controller is a type of switch that allows the variable power output of a heating element of an electric stove. It is called "infinite" because its average output is infinitely variable rather than being limited to a few switched levels. We hope this helps. Please contact us at any time
