Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
Ensure your microwave works efficiently with the GE Thermostat Plate. This crucial component initiates the vent fan when excessive heat rises from the cooktop beneath the microwave, thus protecting your appliance from overheating. Crafted by leading appliance brand GE, this vent hood thermostat is a high-quality, reliable replacement or repair part tailored for your GE microwave. Its function is normally open. Keep in mind that due to the presence of high-voltage capacitors, which can store a lethal electrical charge even when the unit is disconnected, this part should be safely installed by a professional technician. Equip your microwave with the GE Thermostat Plate and maintain its optimal performance.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money

How can i test this thermostat? Do i have to test it at temperature to see continuity?
For model number PVM1790SR1SS
Hi Keith,
Thank you for your question. You would test this part with a multi meter. You would have to remove it from your appliance and test it at room temperature. This part should be reading 0 ohms to be working correctly. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

My unit is getting power because when I open the door the light goes on. Yet, I get nothing on the panel. I have plugged and unplugged several times to no avail. Am I chasing the correct part for a dead panel?
For model number CSA1201RSS01
Hi Constantine,
Thank you for your question. If the if the display is not working the part number for it is PS3493452. The issue could be the smart board as well and the part number for it is PS3491502. Another part to check would be the line fuse, part number PS239525. You will need to test the parts with a multimeter. Here is a link to one of our videos on YouTube that you may reference on how to use one, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWC44fHn0As. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

would this keep blowing a fuse? when I ohm it out it will not go to infinity
so does that mean its bad or is it anomaly open
For model number jvm1790sk01
Hi Steve, thank you for your inquiry. When an ohmmeter points to the infinity symbol, it means that there is no continuity between the two test leads and that an open circuit is present. This thermostat, part number PS2339856, will have an open circuit. If/when the bottom of the microwave gets hot, the thermostat closes and supplies power to the vent fan motor to cool the interior and control components. The thermostat, part number PS2321365, on the left with the black/red black wires attached to it, is the hood TCO. It should have a closed circuit. If the bottom of the microwave or interior get's too hot, the thermostat will open and eliminate power to the control board and other components and the microwave will be inoperative,"dead" until the thermostat cools down and resets to a closed circuit. We hope this solves your problem!
Hi Daniel, Thank you for your question. The stock status for parts is always listed below the Add to Cart button on our site underneath the part information that you will see above the question and answer section. If you are not sure what a stock status means, you can click on it and a separate window will appear with the explanation for what that status means. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
