Knob's plastic hub broken
selected correct replacement knob. used small screw driver to remove small black metal sleeve from switch shaft. (had left that in place to be able to turn on dryer with needle nose pliers while waiting on knob). aligned flat of new knob with switch shaft and gently pressed into place.

Knob fell off - start switch shaft broken from pliers
Unplug the dryer!! I warned my partner of this at first, but she didn't listen.... got quite a little shock from the wires. Removed the back panel with a phillips head screwdriver, removed the connecting wires from the starter box. One was a bit snug, so I loosened it with some flat-nosed pliers. Twisted the unit and it popped right out!
... Read moreOnce the part came in I popped it back in, twisted it until it locked into place, put the connecting wires on and replaced the panel. The knob snapped on easily and it all took about 10 minutes total to do! I'm not much of a repairman or electrician and this was SUPER easy!
Googled dryer start knob, Part Select was second site I clicked on, found within 1 min, part was inexpensive, easy to order, arrived quickly and fit perfectly. Excellent online ordering experience.

loud squeaking noise from dryer
This is a combo washer/dryer. First, I replaced the Idler Arm pulley but the noise didn't stop - it was easy to replace with two screws holding a access panel door in the back of the unit. Next I had to take off the front of the dryer unit to access the drum bearing and replace the dryer belt. There were many screws and electrical conn
... Read moreections to remove. After replacing the drum bearing, there was a plate on the back that had to be held while attaching the screws from the front. Since I was alone, I taped the plate in place to hold it while I attached the screws.
I opened the package, took out the knob, walked to the machine, checked to make sure the knob matched the rest of the knobs and placed the knob on the correct pin. Rotated the knob to make sure it was in place, it was, and I walked away. Very simple.

cheap plastic knob that came with the dryer cracked inside so it won't turn on
threw away the old cracked knob and used pliers to turn on the dryer for a couple of days while I waited for the replacement part. Didn't call the repair man for this one. Got the new part, which appeared to be slightly tougher inside than the original, and popped it on. piece of cake!

I purchased do knobs from another company and one of the same model number manufacturer part number one 34844 7 0 and when i got them they did not fit on the shaft they were too tight. Are these Frigidaire parts are Electrolux parts?
