Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This light bulb socket that is used in microwaves. The socket is meant to fit small-base light bulbs. * Please note: The light bulb is not included with this part and is sold separately. If the following symptoms occur, you may need to replace this part: existing socket is broken or cracked, light bulb is not turning on, or new light bulb does not work. Remember to unplug microwave before installing this part and refer to the manual provided by the manufacturer for installation instructions and a detailed diagram.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money
Why buy the real thing?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Simply put, this means that the company who made your appliance is also supplying the replacement part for it.

Restored lighting for the cooktop, easy-peasy
The reflector design for the cooktop illumination on the bottom of this model of microwave causes the bulbs to overheat and fail prematurely - particularly with the original halogen bulbs. That eventually destroys the bakelite holding the bulb socket together. That leads to bulb replacement becoming harder - and even hazardous. PartSelect's instructional video and perfect copy of the original socket made replacement of both sockets a five-minute job! Combined with their handy website and speedy shipping, that amounts to EXCELLENT product and support!

Easy repair
The parts came in good condition..needed to replace both light sockets...after a period of time the heat from the lights had cracked the old sockets. Only needed to remove 5 screws from the bottom of microwave to gain access to the sockets.

Remove old light sockets and replace in Microwave over stove
Have a microwave that the light and sockets just broke in pieces so I ordered two sockets from this site . The fit perfectly and it was a breeze to install. Took out 7 screws and the plate dropped down, hooked up the little wire which was so simple and bingo I had lite again. I just wished the hold plate came down but it didn't but it was

Surface light bulbs burnt out and heat welded to sockets
Since the job required replacing both the bulbs and sockets the unit was dropped from the wall. Used a towel and plywood to protect the range under the unit. Then these steps: Unplugged the power cable and placed a support board under the unit while removing three bolts from overhead cabinet. Next, removed support board and with a helper
... Read more rotated the unit down and lifted it out of the rear wall mounting panel. Then turned the unit upside down, removed the bottom plate and unplugged the feed wires and two wires to each of the sockets. Next the single screws holding the sockets were removed and the sockets extracted from the mounting shells and new units were installed. When remounting the unit it was necessary to start all three bolts from the upper cabinet just a few turns and then tighten the center bolt completely first.
Thankfully I found this website and was able to understand how to find the part I needed and then install it. One you remove all the screws on the bottom the area where the socket goes is revealed, 2 screws to replace it, then you're done. I have light again, thank you!
After reading some of the comments that others wrote, I decided to order the light sockets along with the replacement bulbs. As predicted, the old light bulbs broke when I tried to remove them - the bulb separated from the base which was still screwed in the socket. After removing the screws that held the bottom panel, I was able to rem

The parts arrived within a day and a half after I ordered them, but when the parts arrived, one of the bulbs was broken (happened during shipping). I called the office phone number and talked to a really pleasant technician who refunded me the price of the broken bulb and placed an order for a replacement. That was the Wednesday evening before Thanksgiving Day. I got the replacement bulb yesterday (Tuesday) morning - still really quick considering the Thanksgiving holiday. All of the parts are installed and are working excellent. I am definately going to keep their WEBsite for future use, and I'll be letting my friends know about them. Thanks PartSelect, you've earned my business.
I was told by 2 different appliance technicians that the crumbled/melted light socket could not be replaced which meant replacing the entire microwave (expensive!). Other posters on your sight described the repair steps and I gave it a try. The hardest part was probably figuring out which switch in the fuse box belonged to it (now marked

Light socket (part number wb08x10016). Is there any documentation on how to replace the socket. Tried to unscrew the existing light bulb (it burned out) and it broke at the base. Now the base of the bulb is still screwed into the socket. Any suggestions?
For model number EMO3000HSS01
Hi Stephen, thank you for your question. Unfortunately we do not have anything on a situation like that. What I could suggest would be to cut power to your appliance completely. Then you could take a pair of pliers or something of the like, stick it into the broken base, firmly press it open so that it puts pressure on the sides of the base and then try to screw it out like you normally would with the whole bulb. This however is just a suggestion. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Control panel display goes off/on sporadically. If off, i can sometimes still get the microwave to work by selecting the appropriate keys (+) start. When this doesn't work, hitting the control panel or slamming the door may enable starting. What part(s) do you recommend? Thank you!
For model number Hotpoint RVM1325WW03
Hi Melene,
Thank you for your inquiry. If your touchpad is not responding, the part that fixes the issue the majority of the time is the secondary door switch. Some other parts you may want to check to see if they are causing the issue are the light socket, the monitor door switch, the thermo sw-tco sense temp, the touchpad and the electronic control board. To verify which part is causing the issue I would use a multimeter to check the continuity of each part. I hope this helps with your repair. Thank you and have a great day!

While replacing light bulb the socket and light bulb popped and the entire microwave did not function after this. Could replacing the socket allow the microwave to be functional again.
For model number JMV1750DM1BB
Hi Lee,
Thank you for your inquiry. Replacing the light socket may fix the issue, but if it is not coming on I would use a multimeter to check the electronic control board to see if it is not shorted out. You will need to check the door switches as well. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

How to remove socket which is partially broken from heat. How to remove glass cover for better access.
For model number JVM1650CB006
Hello Joan, Thank you for the question. There is a Frame to hold the Glass Lens, it is held in place by one screw. Once the screw is removed the Frame and Lens will come off the base of the appliance. The light bulb socket is held in place by 2 screws. Once they are removed you can use pliers to pull the socket from the base and unplug the wires. Make sure the power is turned off to the appliance before performing the repair. We hope this helps!

My bulb went out (under micro lights up stove surface) and went I replaced it. I heard a pop. I removed the light sockets (2) Connections to sockets look black so think I should replace both sockets and wiring that connects them. Please advise if I should be looking for a fuse. Thank you
For model number RVM1625SJ01
Hi Manuel,
Thank you for your question. If the lights were the only parts that were not working correctly, then I would replace the sockets. There is a fuse listed under your model number, part number PS239525, but this should not be the issue. If you would like to test it to see if there is an issue with it, you will need to test it with a multimeter. Here is a link to one of our videos on YouTube that you may reference on how to use one, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWC44fHn0As. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
