Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This door hinge is a genuine OEM replacement part for your wall oven. Replacing this part will require partially removing your oven from the wall, to access the hinge. This part contains one hinge, although it is recommended to replace both at the same time. You will need a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the hing assembly and install the new one.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money
Why buy the real thing?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Simply put, this means that the company who made your appliance is also supplying the replacement part for it.

Oven Door Hinge Replacement
The part worked as expected. Replacement went as shown in YouTube videos (couldn’t find one of double oven, but installed as shown for single). Oven door works better than before as other screws were tightend at the same time.

Just what I needed.
Installation went great! One suggestion pertaining to the holes for securing hinge in place. They didn't appear to be pre-threaded. The screws that secured the previous hinge were not made to self thread the holes in the new hinge. I would suggest having the holes pre-threaded and send the correct screws or sending a pair of self threading screws. It was very difficult to make the old screws tighten flush with the metal.

Broken hinge spring
Suggest taking a photo of oven and the hinge with door removed. Keep track of each screw and where they go as they are different sizes. Not a hard install at all.

oven door would not stay shut
I replaced both hinges and then the door would not stay open so I put one new hinge and one old hinge without a spring on. I did not see the old springs to know whether the new springs were stronger. it was a very simple and easy process. I pulled the oven out of the cabinet part way so I could access the screws and removed the old hinges

I'm looking at part numbers 74001984 and 74001856. They are different numbers and prices, so I'm assuming one is for the upper oven and one for the lower oven. Different websites say different things. I need to know which hinge is for the upper door and which for the lower door, and what is the difference? I really only need the spring. Thank you
For model number cwe5800ace
Hi Terry, Thank you for the question. The 74001984 is the Oven Door Hinge for the Upper oven, Left or Right side, and the 74001856 is the Oven Door Hinge for the Lower Oven, Left or Right side. Hope this helps!
