Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This is an agitator assembly for washing machines. Agitators are used within top load washing machines to move back and forth and effectively wash your clothes. However, if the agitator currently in your washing machine is damaged and/or worn out, it needs to be replaced for your washing machine to operate properly. Replacing this agitator assembly will require a wrench, and for you to turn off the power and water supply for your washing machine. This agitator assembly is an OEM part that is sold individually and does not come with any other parts or accessories.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money

Quick delivery, exactly what was advertised!
Part was clean and new, seemed to be an exact replacement. After I figured out how to remove the bolt at the bottom (needed several socket extenders to get down there!) it was a quick swap of the old one and I was back up and running in 10 minutes.
I had never used PartSelect before but came here after finding I couldn't buy it through the official GE site. Part came in quickly (ordered on Nov 15th and it showed up by the 18th). Would definitely use this site again.

Agitator wore out over time and needed to be replaced
Replacing was easier than opening the box it came in. Used a 7/16 socket and a few extensions to reach the bottom of the agitator. It came out super quick cleaned out the fabric softener older than my kids from under it. Lined up the groves of the new one and it slid easily. I took a small piece of painters tape and crumbled it into a sm

How to replace agitator
For model number GTW330ASK1WW
Hello Sal, Thank you for contacting us. To remove the old Agitator, you just need to remove the Fabric Softener Cap at the top and expose the bolt that holds the Agitator in place. Once the bolt is removed, pull up on the Agitator to remove. It may take a bit of force to remove the agitator from the shaft. Once removed, just line up the new Agitator and push it onto the shaft and replace the bolt and Fabric Softener Cap. We hope this helps, good luck with this repair!

Easy question for ya. I have my agitator all disassembled and can see the problem easily. The teeth inside agitator completely warn down. Question is…if I buy the whole agitator assembly, does that steel piece on the inside with the teeth in it come with the plastic piece or is this something I buy separately?
For model number GTW330ASK2WW
Hi Mike, thank you for contacting us. Yes, the steel piece with teeth you are asking for comes with the agitator, part number PS16542670. We hope this is what you were looking for!

The bolt that needs to be removed to remove the agitator is at least 12 " from opening, how do you get the it?
For model number GTW330ASK0WW
Hello Judy, thank you for the great question. To access the hub nut, follow the following steps:
1. Remove the fabric softener dispenser.
2. For better visuals, take out the auger and the base.
3. Align the raised bump with the opening on the auger.
4. Use the screwdriver to puncture through the inner shaft of the auger, then twist clockwise until the auger releases, and lift it out.
5. Lift out the base.
6. Unthread the nut clockwise.
We hope this information helps!

I have tried to unscrew the bolt holding the agaitator in place and it will not come out
For model number GTW330ASK2WW
Hello Pat, Thank you for your inquiry. Try using an impact drill with a long extension 1/4 ratchet to get the agitator bolt out. You may need to use a penetrating oil to get the bolt out. We hope this helps.
