I probably looked at the problem longer that it took me to fix it. Dishwasher wouldn't drain and it wasn't clogged. Works great!

Not OE but it works
Overall shape was different compared to original. The bottom of pump was "flattened off" versus round. This actually allowed me to lower the dishwasher to give more access to controls on top. It was half the weight of original (or 1st replacement for the original) and different shape. Came with an adapter for electrical connection. My wife destroyed the original pump with non dishwasher friendly dishes. Replaced pump once with identical pump and only lasted a year. Ordered this replacement and it all hooked up and worked so we will see.

Drain pump quit draining
My granddaughter's fian'ce actially replaced the pump. He pulled the dishwasher out, tipped it over and quickly and easily replaced the pump. I had already snapped the converter on to the pump so it was ready to hook up. I had read previous messages that this part had a converter. After putting the washer back in place we

Dishwasher Not Draining
The pump went out after a few months of very loud noise during the drain cycle and then one day no drain or noise. A bit of research shows that this pump goes out frequently on this model so I ordered a new pump after inspecting the old pump for a clog or snag on the rotors.
The Install: After removing the dishwasher from
... Read moreit's installed location and turning it on it's side (unplug water and electric of course), I was able to remove the pump from the two lines that connected it to the dishwasher and the drain line. I also had to unplug the pump from an electric connection to the dishwasher. Swapping out the new pump was the same but in reverse. Not a hard install, only simple tools required.
One note, my electric connection to the dish washer was different on this model pump since they changed the original part but there is an adapter included with this part so make sure it is in the box and fits before beginning.

Drain pump would not work. Water left in the bottom of the dishwasher.
Dishwasher is under 2yrs old and suddenly failed to drain due to the drain pump not working. I read the reviews on how easy it was to change and went ahead and purchased one. After removing the screw from the appliance bracket under the counter and the two screws from the base plate, it was easy to pull the dishwasher from under the coun

I needed a nose tip pliers to remove one of the hose clamps and a screwdriver for the other clamp. Once the pump was removed, I opened the old pump by twisting the top part while pressing the tabs to remove upper housing. There was a broken piece of glass that had wedged itself in the mechanism which prevented the pump from working. I wish I had checked that first, before purchasing a new drain pump. I kept the old pump as a backup for the future. It took no more than 20 minutes to get the pump replaced and the dishwasher back in place. Dishwasher drains just as new. By the way, costed under $100 with delivery. An appliance repair company wanted $250!! Not the first time PartSelect saved me money and won’t be my last!

Drain pump needed replaced
The only directions that came with the new pump and filter, was how to replace the filter. I had to find a You Tube video to show me where the drain pump was located., and the way to get to it. I also had to figure out how the new pump was hooked up electrically, since the new pump did not work with the plug in on the machine.

Pump would not drain tub
Repair went fine, getting the right pump was the problem. I started with my local appliance parts house, they ordered part came in 3 days. Wait 10 days for GE, for this part and once again same odd looking pump with wrong electrical plug. My son who is a welder by trade asks me if there is a packet of parts in carton and yes there is. He says that perhaps there is a converter for the electrical. That was the solution no one told us that pump was universal and needed the adapter. Not even the 2 different tecks at first house. Perhaps that should be stated in the part would have saved us tons of time. Thanks D

Dishwasher is not draining, replaced the pump assembly but still not draining. The pump does start and some water does leave the tub when I interrupt/Cancel the wash cycle. Is there anything else that would keep it from draining fully? I checked the hoses and the pump to make sure they are clear.
For model number GDT695SMJ0ES
Hi Bill, thank you for the question. As you have already checked the hoses and replaced the drain pump, we would recommend checking the electronic control board, part number PS12730509. It manages the functions of the dishwasher, such as washing, draining and drying. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope that helps!
My pump cycles with the typical buzzing sound, but no water discharges. I’m assuming the impeller is shot. What would be the correct replacement?

Hi Tim, thank you for reaching out. Based on our understanding, we would suggest you checking the drain pump. You may need to replace the drain pump kit, part number PS16219695. We hope this sorts out your problem!

Where is the check valve or back flow stopper on my dishwasher? Is there one? It drains fine, but seems to refill a bit with dirty water. I suspect a Barbie doll shoe or piece of glass is giving me the trouble.
