Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
The flat style oven igniter kit is used in gas ovens and ranges. It is what provides the heat needed to open the gas valve, and it ignites fuel for the burner assembly. This part can be used for both bake and broil elements, and it can replace both short and long igniters. However, it cannot replace round style oven igniters. If your igniter glows for 90 seconds or more without igniting the burner, this means it is too weak to open the valve. The element in your igniter may have shorted it and it might not glow at all, or it might only glow orange or red. It needs to glow white hot; if it cannot get hot enough the gas will not be released from the safety valve and it will be impossible to light the burner in your oven. This kit includes the igniter, ceramic wire nuts, an insulation pad, a metal bracket, a variety of plug ends, and an instruction sheet. The body length is 3 3/4 inches, and the element inside is approximately 1 1/2 inches. This replacement part has an amperage range of 3.3 to 3.6. The element inside this igniter is extremely fragile, do not touch it. Before you start repairing your oven or range, make sure you have unplugged it and shut off the gas supply.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money
Why buy the real thing?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Simply put, this means that the company who made your appliance is also supplying the replacement part for it.

Fixed my 35 yr old oven
The part arrived in good condition a few days after I ordered it. I was able to fix my 35 year old Maytag gas oven for a whole lot less than a new gas range would cost. It now preheats to the very high temperature that I want.

Self tapping screws stripped out, one broke in mounting hole
Punched out broken screw. Drilled out damaged threads to same size as igniter mounting holes. I used nuts, bolts and lock washers to mount igniter. Would have been very easy if mounting screws had come out. Video very helpful.

Oven ignighter no longer works
Well Got the part within 3 days. Followed instructions to install it and it worked. One thing you need to add to your kit is replacement mounting screws (2 nuts and bolts). It turns out that the original burner because of its age, had a hard time unscrewing it. The screws were very tight and ended up stripped. I ended up using a Dremel t
... Read moreool to cut the screws off. By now the holes were a little bigger than original so I had to put it back together with a nut and bolt that would fit the small hole. But overall this was my first repair and I would definitely order from you again. Your site's part search and documentation with video clarified it wonderfully. Great service and site!

igniter failed to ignite
Replaced the igniter by removing 2 screws, pulling on the wires to pull the connector in from the back thru the oval opening, screwing in the the new element, reconnecting the wires, pushing the connector back and that did it.

No heat in oven
Checked igniter it glowed but never got hot enough to open gas valve. I switched igniter from broiler to oven and oven burner lit. Switched igniter back to broiler as wires were shorter than the oven igniter. Ordered part from number and picture comparison. It took about 20 minutes to get it installed and all stove parts back together.

oven igniter although lit up it failed to permit gas valve to open
ordered new replacement oven igniter kit and also felt it was a good opportunity to change the oven temperature sensor so also ordered short oven sensor kit. both parts fit as described as original replacements with very little work involved. oven worked properly good well done and a big saving on a service call repair or new range.

What's the difference between a 3412d024-26 and a 3412d024-09 oven burner?
Hi Diana,
Thank you for your question. It looks like the first part is not only grey in color but also larger than the second one. The second part is smaller and black in color. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

My gas oven and broiler do not light. The burners work fine. Igniter problem?
For model number 31000PAW
Hi Arlene, Thank you for the question. This model number does not come with an igniter. You will need to replace the Burner Pilot. PartSelect Number PS11750349.The pilot stays lit all the time and, when the oven is turned on, the flame gets bigger and surrounds the thermocouple. When the thermocouple senses the required heat, the safety valve opens to let the gas flow to the oven burner tube where the pilot flame ignites the gas.Hope this helps!
Does this igniter part #ps1573892 have the plug on the end of the wire to plug into my oven?
For model number S31HK-92 DKX FV
Hi Steve, thank you for your question. Yes, looking at the photo there is a white plug on the end of this igniter. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

I cleaned the oven, not using the self cleaning but with vinegar and baking soda. I believe i got liquid down one of the vent holes. Oven sounds like its going to light but doesn't. There is no gas smell. Broiler works and top burners work. Serial number is 3628197uy . Igniter, but which one ?
For model number CHG9800BAM
Hello Pat, thank you for your question. The igniter for this unit is Part Number: PS1573892. The igniter must provide enough volts for the gas valve to open, so if the igniter is not functioning there will be no gas to the oven. We would recommend replacing the igniter first. I hope this helps!

At times the oven will not come on and fault code f5 comes up on the touch control pad for this jenn air oven. Is there a part that needs to be updated? When it does come on heats normally
For model number WMG3020B
Hi Chris, Thank you for the question. The manufacturer uses this error or fault code to indicate a possible problem with either the touch pad or control board. You can try to remove the touch pad and board and clean the electrical ribbon and make sure they are plugged in securely to see if this fixes the issue.Unfortunately both these parts have been discontinued and are no longer made so they are not replaceable. Hope this helps!

The oven and the broiler and the oven lite does not lite. Is there a fuse or a breaker some where
For model number 34GN-3TKK
Hi Clayton,
Thank you for your inquiry. There are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the flat style oven igniter, the short oven sensor, the burner spark ignition switch and the electronic control board. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

The broiler igniter is pulling enough voltage to start the gas flow, but it doesn't light. Can it be such a fine line that it opens the valve to let the gas flow but not glowing hot enough to light the gas? (fyi if i smack the burner with the heavy end of a butter knife, it starts the Flame)
For model number 31HA-92KXS-EL
Hello Steve, thank you for your question. Yest the igniter is very sensitive and might be getting enough voltage to glow and open the valve but not light the gas. I would recommend replacing the Flat Style Oven Igniter Kit 12400035. Good luck with your repair!
