Fit Perfect
The part came a few days early! The repair went well, it took maybe 1 1/2 hours start to finish and the 4 year old washing machine is back to being as quiet as it was when new.

Washer is like new again
Right part right fit. You will not enjoy getting the washer plate off, I had to run the washer for a few day with the bolt removed for it to break free. Go buy the spanner wrench to remove the drum. Overall an easy job.

Part was good quality
Part was exactly what was advertised, fixed a whirlpool top loader washer that sounded like a 747 taking off while in spin cycle. Now super quiet.would suggest buying the spanner wrench for top nut that holds tub in no other way to remove tool takes it right off . Took about 1 1/2 hours for repair start to finish .

Part looked fine. Installation was simple, went well.
I am hoping this part is of better quality then the original; which was only four years old. It took a little longer to receive then stated, but is was the holiday season.

Loud grinding noise when the washer was in use.
1.) disconnect power to your washer. Turn off water supply and disconnect from the washer.
open the washer top and remove plastic cap from the wash plate
2.) using 7/16 socket, remove bolt from the wash plate. If you can't remove it with a socket , I recommend using impact wrench.
3.) remove wash plate
... Read more( you might need to spray penetrating oil or wd40 inside the bolt hole to loosen it. Check to make sure the wash plate gear grooves are not worn down, if they are, replace it.
4.) using your Maytag specific spaner nut wrench, remove the spaner nut from the shaft of the gear case. This should be right underneath where the wash plate was. If you can't turn it by hand , use a rubber mallet or hammer to encourage it.
5.) some people remove the wash basket at this point. I don't think it is necessary.
6.) close your washing machine. Tape the top closed to keep it from flying open. Tilt your washer back and prop it up where you have access to the underside of the washing machine.
7) remove motor rotor bolt and pull rotor off of the motor.
8.) disconnect the two wire connectors that supply power to motor. using a socket, remove bolts that are keeping motor attached to the gear case.
9.) Now that the gear case is all the is remaining on the underside, you can remove the 4 bolts that are holding the gear case to the washer. Now try to pull gear case out.
10.) if gearcase will not pull out, lower washer back to upright position. Spray penetrating oil or wd40 around the shaft of the gearcase and allow it to sit for 5-10 minutes. Using a hammer, lightly tap on the shaft of the gearcase and it should now fall out. ( you might have to apply penetrating oil again, or apply more force with the hammer.
11.) reinstall motor to new gearcase. Insert new gear case to the washer. Reinstall bolts and reconnect power supply wires.
12. ReInstall spaner nut inside the washer, reinstall wash plate.

THE PROBLEM IS EXCESS SPIN VIBRAT IO N AND SHAKING ALL SPEEDS
For model number MVWB765FW3
Hello Steven, thank you for your question! If your washing machine is shaking violently, the culprit may be inside. Check to see if the washer is overloaded or if a bulky item is causing it to become unbalanced. If all is well on the inside, it is also possible that the washer is unlevel or unbalanced due to improper installation or uneven floors. Check that all four legs are in contact with the floor or place a leveler on top of the washer. If your washer is old and you hear a loud banging or clanging during the spin cycle, it is possible the shock absorbers or drum bearings have worn out, causing the basket or drum to get out of balance. If the problem persists, you will need to inspect the following parts that may need to be replaced: suspension rods, part number PS12347544, impact absorber, part number PS12349006, and dampening pad, part number PS11746560. Please reach out to customer service if you need help placing an order. Glad to be of help!
on spin cycle very loud noise. can i just replace the bearings or do i have to replace the gearcase assy. for this MD type..?
For model number 110.20372711
Hello Edward, Thank you for your inquiry. Researching the model number that you have provided, while the washer is available separately, the bearing is only available as part of the gearcase. You may also want to check the impact absorbers as well, part# PS11746560. Good luck with your repair.

Hello, in your last recommendation you mentioned that the gearcase could be the problem. I wanted to see if there is a way to verify this is the issue or if it is a trial basis?
Also is there a tub seal/bearing seal that I need to purchase or any special tools to replace the gearcase?
Thank you
For model number WTW7300DW0
Hi Derrick, thank you for the question. You can verify this by carrying out an inspection test:
1. Begin by unplugging your washer.
2. Remove the cabinet's fastening screws and remove the cabinet itself.
3. Now you will need to locate your gearcase.
4. Once you have located the gearcase, plug your washing machine back in and run a wash cycle to determine if the gearcase is the source of the problem. A faulty gearcase will make strange noises during operation. Use caution when performing this step, as the internal components of your washer are exposed. If the gearcase is noisy during this test, you need a replacement gearcase.
Also, the bearing is not available separately but comes as a part of the gearcase, part number PS12741641. You may need a 7/16 socket and a spanner nut wrench for the removal of this part. We hope this information helps!

Washer was in the middle of a wash cycle when it suddenly started making a loud stripping or grinding noise, it then refused to continue the cycle and drum would not move lid would lock and then not move, after a couple of attempts to get it going it would only default to locking the lid and flashing the power button, please note that during the attempts to start I noticed the drum moving slightly and even spinning quite slowly trying too do a sense cycle but not able to get enough speed, it sounds like a trans but I would appreciate your expert opinion.
For model number MVWB765FW3
Hello Timothy, thank you for reaching out. Based on the symptoms you have described, it does sound like there may be an issue with the transmission, part number PS12741641. We would recommend replacing it to fix the issue. Good luck with your repair!

My washer makes loud noise when spinning i was hoping to see a bearing on the diagram but no so what do you suggest is making that loud noise a d what should i replace
For model number WTW8500DC0
Hi Jose, thank you for reaching out. Based on the description that you have provided, we would recommend checking the following parts to fix the issue: spanner nut, part number PS11766762, and gearcase assembly, part number PS12741641. We hope this sorts out your problem!
Hello Elizabeth, thank you for contacting us. The transmission is responsible for controlling the drum's spin speed and can become damaged or worn over time, which can prevent the drum from spinning and cause a grinding noise. The most viable solution is replacing the gear case, part number PS12741641. Customer service is available 7 days a week if you require assistance placing an order. Thanks again for reaching out!

Washer is very loud when spinning out water. I've also seen an increased amount of dark cast off radiating from under the front of the washer. Haven't noticed any water, but I'd imagine that maybe soon to come. What should I need to fix this problem?
For model number MVWB835DW3
Hi Mike, thank you for the question. Based on our understanding, we would suggest checking the drain pump, part number PS11738156. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope this solves your problem!
