Introducing Whirlpool's genuine OEM 1/3 HP drive motor, engineered to ensure the best performance of your washer. This high-quality motor spins the spin basket and drives the agitator, ensuring optimal operation during agitation or tumbling modes. Designed for some Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Maytag, Jenn-Air, Amana, Inglis, and Magic Chef models, it prioritizes custom fit and durability. Before installation, ensure to unplug your washer and wear work gloves for safety. Test the motor with a multimeter, replacing it if the meter measures infinite resistance through either winding. At the advice of my repair man, I replaced the gearcase in hopes of fixing an extremely loud screeching noise. The noise happens at the end of every spin cycle, just after the splutch engages/disengages five or six times. Holding in the Start/Pause button does not stop the noise, only pulling the power cord. When the power is cut, the noise stops immediately. Plug the cord back in and the cycle finishes. No issues otherwise. The tub spins, water drains, and clothes come clean. It's just that wake-the-dead screeching. Could it be the motor drive or an electrical component that's bad?
For model number WTW5000DW2

My washer is making a loud noise when it agitates and tries to spin out. Sounds like it’s slipping. Replaced the belt but is still doing it. Any suggestions?

Hello Ken, thank you for your inquiry. It sounds like a faulty transmission, part number PS16220911. We recommend checking it to fix the issue. We hope this helps.
The washer is causing a burning smell while in use. We’ve changed the belt and the drain pump due to water not being fully discharged. The issue is still persistent and we’re not sure what needs to be done.
