Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This is an inlet valve for various washing machines. Inlet valves are responsible for opening and closing as needed, to allow water to enter the washer during the washing cycle. This inlet valve features a hot and cold-water valve, as well as the necessary wire harness to easily plug it in. Since inlet valves are an electrically controlled solenoid valve, they can fail either due to electrical failure such a short, or after long, extended use. If your inlet valve fails, your washer will likely relay an error code, or it simply will not wash your clothes due to the lack of water, and the valves will need to be replaced. Replacing this valve will require a screwdriver and/or socket wrench, and some disassembly of your washer will be necessary. This inlet valve is an individually sold OEM part and does not come with any accessories or other parts.

Easy Repair, Great Help
We had to replace this part after a cold snap caused some freezing and cracked the blue valve. The site made it so easy to identify which part needed through diagrams and then had an incredible how-to video on completing the repair. Turned a full washer replacement/application service repair into a maybe 1 hour fix that was easily done by myself and partner.

Washer works fine but water continues to drip in the washer when turned off. I have to shut the main supply off. Is this a bad water inlet valve?
For model number MVWC565FW0
Hi Jeffrey,
Thank you for your question. Yes, if you have water leaking into the tub when it is not in use, the issue would be the water inlet valve. A component in the valve has failed and it will need to be replaced. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

After i have loaded the washer and pushed the start button, the sensor light comes on, but water does not start filling the tub. I was told that this was because of the water input valve. Is this correct?
For model number NTW4605EW0
Hi Leilani, thank you for your question. Usually it is however you could test your valve with a multi meter to make sure it is working correctly. If it is then you may want to also take a look at your water level pressure switch as well. Good luck with your repair.

The water keeps running without filling the washer. What should I look for to verify the faulty part?
For model number NTW4605EW0
Hello Chuck, Thank you for the question. We suggest testing the Water Valve. Set your multitester to the R X 1 ohms setting to test for continuity. Place each of the multitester's leads on a terminal. Your multitester should display a reading between 200 and 500 ohms. Closely examine your water inlet valve. The exact ohm resistance rating you should test for may be marked on the valve. We hope this helps!

The water makes a loud whooshing sound only when filling on the rinse cycle. My research says it may could be the fill valve…or a kink in the filler hoses. I can not detect a kink in either hose. Should I replace the valve?
For model number MVWC565FW0
Hello Frank, thank you for reaching out. Based on our understanding of the issue, we would suggest checking the water inlet valve, part number PS11773194, to solve the problem. A malfunctioning water inlet valve can most probably cause this problem. We hope this helps!

The clothes in the washer are half-dry and have stains all over them. Seems like some clothes have never been washed at all. Could it be that the inlet washer valve is bad so that it doesn't allow water in?
For model number MVWC565FW0
Hello Kostya, Thank you for the question. I suggest testing the valve with a multi meter to check for continuity. Hope this helps!
