Replace motor
I got the motor installation and wiring diagram book from the Ace Appliance web site. I tried to get it 4 times with parts select and got nowhere
Lint filter was 38 years old and screen neded replacing.
New screen was a snug fit so I Lightly filed two sides and it fit fine.

Worn belt, torn Filter, lint cleaning
Firstly, and I can't emphasize this enough; I went on Utube and found a video as to how to do the belt replacement on this exact Model. Then with the help of my wife, we just proceed step by step. We took digital photos of the electrical hook-up to be sure to reassemble to electrical correctly; as well as the capstan/idler belt threading.
... Read more Getting the new belt on to the drive capstan was the hardest part. I loop it over the drum while it was pulled out about 6". I then reached through the drum to tread it around the capstan/idler. Then I moved the drum into place, and SLOWLY wound the drum by hand CW 2 turns, to give the capstan a chance to do the final alignment of the belt/drum. No problemo!
I had tried to get a part through Maytag - but model was discontinued. I decided to google the part and part select popped up in the search and I was surprised they had the part I was looking for! The part arrived promptly and I was very happy.
Couldn't figure out how to dismantle the dryer to get to the heater and housing assembly. Found it on your website others commenting about where to locate the 2 front screws.....after that it was easy as a piece of cake. We took it apart and installation done in 15mins. Now I hope my Maytag dryer will last another 30years....LOL
