Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This is a clutch designed for use within top-load washers. The clutch is used to engage the transmission of your washer during the agitation and spinning cycles, to ensure it runs properly. If your washing machine is not agitating or spinning properly, the clutch could be the problem, and it will need to be tested and then potentially replaced. To replace the clutch in your washing machine, you will need to disassemble your washer from underneath, and will need a socket wrench and screwdriver as a result. This clutch is an OEM part and is only sold with a single securing screw.

During diagnostic test washer agitates fine but makes noise during spin cycle. Also getting F7/E5 code. Is the clutch the likely issue?
For model number 11026132410
Hello Pat, thank you for reaching out. The F7-E5 error code is a shifter fault error code. The most common problem related to this error code is going to be that the shifter has failed. We would recommend replacing the Clutch, part number PS10064562. The clutch shifts the mode of the cycle from agitate to spin. As your unit has a direct drive motor with no belt, then this clutch operates as the mode shifter does. We hope this information helps!

I have a top load Maytag washer. I have an error code F7E4. Can this be related?
For model number MVW7232HW0
Hello Paul, thank you for your question. Error code F7E4 does mean a clutch failure. First unplug the washer and check the clutch for obstructions. Remove any obstructions. Replace the clutch if damaged. We hope this helps.

I have an F7/E5 error code for my whirlpool washer. Is this the clutch or the shifter sensor that would be causing this?
For model number wtw8040dw4
Hello Rick, thank you for your inquiry. The F7E5 error code means that your shifter actuator is not shifting the transmission into spin or agitate properly. This is not something you can just reset, the shift actuator is part of the clutch, part number PS10064562. We would recommend replacing the clutch to fix this error. We hope this solves your problem!

Washer is making different sound in the bottom & flings water on spin cycle. Does clutch kit come with bearing & seal. I ordered slider thinking #7 was bearing. Ps was fast getting part.
For model number Mvwb835dwo
Hello and thank you for writing.
We are glad you received the order in a timely manner. The clutch does not include the bearing and seal. The tub bearing and seal kit is part PS3503261. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.
I get a very high-pitched squealing noise, like a belt slipping, when spin startup occurs. I believe this model is direct drive, so no belt. Error code is F3 E2 which doesn't seem to be related. Under heavier loads (1 blanket or comforter) the water often does not drain at all. Lighter loads will drain fully.
For model number WTW8040DW2
Hi Doug, thank you for contacting us. According to our research, the error code F3E2 indicates an issue with the washer temperature control. We would suggest resetting the washer by unplugging it from the outlet for at least 1 minute and then plugging it back in. Considering the symptoms you mentioned, the drain and noise issue might be caused by a faulty drain pump, part number PS11738156. We hope this helps, good luck with this repair!
Washer makes noise when agitating. Like a grinding and clunking noise what could that be
For model number MVWB835DW1
Hi Jeff, thank you for the question. Based on our understanding of the issue, we would suggest you make sure there are no foreign objects stuck in the washer drum or seal. If that is not causing the issue, then you may need to check the gearcase, part number PS12741641, as it is the most likely cause of this issue. If the gearcase is faulty or worn out, you may need to replace it. We hope this helps!
hi ,
there is times my washer machine leaves my clothes socked in water like it did not go through the spinning cycle .
does it mean the clutch is bad?
For model number mvwb765fw0
Hi Gerardo, thank you for getting in touch. Too much clothing can create an imbalance in the washer tub that reduces spin speeds, leaving clothes wet. Remove some items and redistribute others to balance the washer drum before running another drain and spin cycle. Make sure your drain hose is not kinked and the drain pump is not clogged. If this does not help, we recommend replacing the drain pump, part number PS11738156. The washer will not spin if it cannot drain properly or if the pump filter is clogged. Good luck with your repair!
Replaced the slider assembly, due to grinding noise and it was worn out. Now it makes a loud whirring noise at spin cycle what could be the culprit? clutch?
For model number MVWB865GW0
Hi Veronica,
Thank you for your question. If you hear a grinding noise when the washer is in use, the bearing on the gearcase is worn or damaged and it will need to be replaced. The part number for the gearcase is PS12741641.We hope this helps!
