Trimmer won’t advance string when bumped. It looks like the small Cooper piece on the lever is missing. Would that cause it to not advance the string?

Hi Earl, thank you for the question. Yes, if the small coper piece is missing, it would likely prevent the trimmer from advancing string when bumped. It comes attached with the lever, part number PS11927683. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope this sorts out your problem!

Broken power input terminal
I found this unit by the side of the road. One power input terminal was loose. Inside it was broken. Replacement was to remove the screws, pull out the wire, and cut the wire next to the terminal. I was able to strip the wire and crimp it in the terminal. I then soldered both terminals for a good connection.
