This diverter motor, or stepper motor, controls the movement of the spray arms in your dishwasher. It directs water between the drain pump and the spray arms by turning a check valve inside the pump, managing the flow of water to these spray arms. This diverter motor runs on 120 volts and 60 Hz. When this motor fails, the dishwasher will not wash or drain properly. Please keep in mind that this genuine OEM replacement part is sold separately from the spray arms.

Customer Repair Stories

Dishwasher was making loud grinding/buzzing noise
Saw a YouTube video that explained the problem was the pump. Removed dishwasher from under the counter, flipped it on its side, and unplugged the unit. Removed bottom cover and the pump is right there. Used pliers to lose and move 3 hose clamps. Unplugged 3 wires and unscrewed the ground. Unhooked rubber hold downs and removed. Installed new pump. Parts Select pricing was best I found and shipping was fast. Nice to have a quiet house again when running the dishwasher. Cost in total was less than $100.

Introducing the LG dishwasher parts assembly, a circulation pump and motor assembly complete with a heater. A genuine OEM item, this is designed specifically for use with select models of LG dishwashers. Its primary function is to pump water through the spray arms during the cycle, helping to ensure optimal cleaning. Please, verify that this part is the right fit for your model prior to ordering, as parts may slightly vary in size and shape. To ensure safe installation, it is recommended to shut off the house circuit breaker for the dishwasher and to wear protective gloves. Be sure to choose this quality part from LG when repairing your dishwasher.
