Keep searches simple. Use keywords, e.g. "leaking", "pump", "broken" or "fit".
There is is shear section in the shaft to protect the mixer if overstressed. I did just that and the shaft sheared off
I was not able to complete the repair. The shaft that I received was incomplete and I was told that the other piece I needed was not to be had. If anyone had actually looked at the old part, which was all one piece, they could have seen that, in order to replace it, I would have needed the nylon driver gear that was on the end of the broken piece.
By the way, what I was trying to repair was not the actual mixer but an attachment. It was a pasta roller.
I ended up going directly to kitchen aid and bought the entire attachment for $67.00 shipping included. The incorrect part cost me $61.00 shipping included then I had to pay to ship it back.
