My "reset filter" light indicator was on. What do I need to do? Does this mean I have to change my grease filters or does my microwave have charcoal filter in it?

Hi Aarti, thank you for reaching out. Yes, your model has a charcoal filter, part number PS16216937. The Reset Filter indicator does not detect when the charcoal filter is dirty. This is simply a timed function to remind you to change the filter. The Reset Filter reminder will light up every 6 months. The charcoal filter should typically be changed every 6 to 12 months, when it is noticeably dirty or discolored or when the Reset Filter indicator light comes on. When the Reset Filter light is on, replace the charcoal filter, then place your finger over the words Reset Filter and press down for 3 seconds. The Reset Filter indicator light will reset and go off. Please reach out to customer service if you need help placing an order. Glad to be of help!
Are the 2 little filters on bottom of microwave the only filter that need to be replaced

Hello Fran, thank you for your inquiry. Your model comes with 3 replaceable filters. The 2 filters located at the bottom of the microwave are the grease filters. Both of them have the same part number PS12722303. The third filter is the charcoal filter, part number PS16216937, which is located at the top of the microwave, behind the vent grille. I have a brand new GE microwave JVM6175SK5SS. The grease filters will not stay in place. (keep falling down) please advise as what is the fix to this problem?

Hello Brent, Thank you for the question. This could indicate the Filters have been removed and installed enough times they lost a bit of the shape and need to be replaced. We also suggest checking the Base Plate for any wear. We hope this helps!

First I disconnected the power and opened the door. Then I removed the top screws holding the top vent louvers, then removed the screw at the top of the touch pad. The touch pad removes by sliding up slightly then tilting top out. I unscrewed two screws holding the door latch assembly. Press the tab to remove and replace switch. Reco
... Read morennect wires, reseat latch mount by placing top bracket tab in place first, allign and secure with screws. Reseat touch pad by placing bottom tabs in first, tilt forward and press up to seat top tabs, secure with top screw. Secure vent louver screws, plug in and watch your microwave work again.
Remove microwave outer cover. Turn on side & locate the upper & lower door switches. Better to replace in pairs even if one is ok. Remove the wire harness to each switch. Then replace switch and re connect the wire harness. Re attach outer cover and test to see if that solved the problem. If so then well done!!
I broke the tray glass in the microwave cleaning it so this was a no brainer. The best part of this was the PartSelect experience. I ordered the part on the 30th of December and received it on 3 Jan!!! I have used PartSelect before for fridge repair and had the same experience.
