The hot water inlet valve on your washing machine controls the water flow into the washer. This inlet valve has a standard hose fitting inlet and one water outlet. The water inlet valve opens to allow water to enter the washing machine. If the water inlet valve is defective, the washer may leak, fill slowly, or not fill at all. To test your valve, unplug the washer when the symptom occurs. If the washer continues to fill, then your inlet valve is defective. This part is approximately 3 inches long x 3 inches wide.

Replacing your LG Washer Washer Hot Water Inlet Valve

Replacing your Washer Hot Water Inlet Valve

Customer Repair Stories

Water leaking on the floor under the washer.
Unplug the washer! Turn off the HOT water valve. Remove the hot water hose at the connection on the back of the washer. Remove the two Phillips head screws holding the top of the washer. Slide the lid toward the rear until you feel it disengage, then lift it off, setting it aside.
Unplug the electrical connector on top of the hot water valve (just pulls off).using pliers compress the hose clamp, slide it away from the hot water valve and pull the hose off the valve fitting(it will have some water remaining so lift it up and secure it to the brace above the hoses).
Remove the two phillips head screws that hold the valve in place. Pull the valve toward the front of the washer to remove it and compare it to the new valve.
To install the new valve, reverse all steps insuring tight water hose clamp and electrical connection. Install hot water hose, plug it in and turn on water. Test run and check for leaks. Unplug it and reinstall top.

Leaky inlet valve assembly #P221ER1003A
I set my iPad on the exposed washing machine drum, was exposed after removing top as explained in video, and put on the ‘ how to do video it’. It was so easy for this 78-year-old brain, that I am very pleased with myself. Also would like to thank whoever I talked to, Chris, when I ordered this part from this company, Chris was very helpful and took time with me. So this ‘do it yourself person’, and I’m really not a do it yourself person, WILL certainly be looking into other do it yourself fixers. Thank you again.

This washer hose with bellows, also known as a dispenser hose, is a genuine OEM replacement part for your washer. Replacing this part can be helpful if your washer is leaking. The dispenser hose connects the dispenser assembly to the tub. Before beginning the repair, unplug the washer and turn off the water supply. You will need a Phillips head screwdriver to complete this repair; a clamp tool can also be helpful. Remove the screws holding the lid of the washer in place, and take off the lid. Locate the dispenser hose and remove its clamps. Place the clamps on the new hose, using the arrows for a guide in positioning the clamps. Install the new hose and reassemble all other parts.

LG washing machine flooded the Landry room.
Wife called me and said the washing machine just flooded the Landry room. I looked at it and didn't see anything wrong. Took the top off and the back off and started looking for a leak, did not see anything. Took the front part of the washer apart thinking the drain hole was plugged up where the rubber boot is. It was ok after taking the big rubber boot off or whatever that is called i was not getting anywhere. I put it back together left the top and the back off. I turned the water on and started the washer on a quick cycle looking for a leak. I found the bellows at the inlet had a small leak fixed that and started the washer again. So what i found out was the clean out drain plug was not in tight letting water out as it was washing after i tightened it all was ok. So i did find a leak that was small that we never saw. The hardest part was putting that wire clamp on the rubber boot it took two people to do that.

The drain hose assembly is a genuine OEM assembly supplied directly by LG for use in washing machines. The assembly includes the hose, connector, elbow fitting, and metal clamp. It is responsible for directing wastewater from the washing machine tub to the household drain or plumbing system. It allows the water to exit the washer efficiently and prevents it from pooling inside the machine at the end of the cycle. If the hose can no longer stay attached to the washer or drainpipe, water is leaking from the hose, or the hose has visible damage such as cracks and splits then you will need to replace it before you can resume using your washer.

The drain hose was leaking
First I had to elevate the washer on 3-5 gal. buckets in order to get underneath it and find the leak. Then I tried to repair the hose itself-which actually worked-but then the rest of the hose just started splitting everywhere I touched it. So I ordered the new part which took some careful comparing and examination online. But it was exactly the right part. You have to remove the top of the washer which is just 2 or 3 screws. Then taking the hose out was a little challenge-knowing I would have to put the new one back in carefully. Use Vaseline on rubber fitting at the end of the hose that connects to the washer. Need at least 2 people to raise the washer up in air to work on it.

Pump discharge hose leak.
Went to U tube found several good videos relative to the problem, suggest you do the same. Heavy rubber diaphragm seal retainer spring VERY difficult to expand, bought a replacement spring with less tension and it worked fine. Plastic clip at the back of the cabinet does not have to be removed. Squeeze it and it will unlatch to free the hose, The part supplied was an exact replacement for the original, it worked just fine. Good luck.

The drain pump and motor assembly may also be known as the washer drain pump and is a part for your washer. The drain pump helps expel water from the washing machine. The drain pump is activated after the spin cycle speed is maintained for a specific period of time. To make this installation you will need a Phillips screwdriver, a small flat-blade screwdriver, a pair of needle-nose pliers, and a pair of slip-joint pliers. Note that the pump casing is not included. This medium-difficulty repair may vary, but can generally be started by disconnecting power, then removing the top of the washer by taking out the four back screws and two small brackets. Then, remove the front panel by taking out the two screws and eight tabs that should be taken from the top. Moving down the front of the washer, remove the door, latch, tub gasket, and drain cover. Disconnect the drain hoses and clip from under the drain assembly, and install new assembly from there. Reassemble parts in direct reverse order -- taking photos during disassembly and keeping parts clearly organized can help here. Despite the number of steps, you will only need a standard Phillips screwdriver to complete this repair.

Washing maching wouldn't drain
Removed the top of the washer by removing the 4 back screws and 2 small brackets. Then I removed the front panel, this was actually the hardest part, 2 screws and 8 tabs that you pop out carefully from the top of the panel. I only disconnected the power button and was able to rest the panel on top of the washer. The rest of the washer came apart quickly just moving down the front of the washer and removing the door, latch, tub gasket, drain cover. Removing the pump was just a mater of disconnecting the drain hoses, and one clip under the drain assembly. 3 screws attach the drain to assembly to the pump and only 2 wires that are clearly marked. Reassembly is just going back through in reverse order of disassenbly. The best thing about this is that it all comes apart with a standard phillips screwdriver.

Simply took hose off from inside machine and replaced it with new one. The tore one had a stopper on one end that wrapped to front machine; inside filter compartment. So I put stopper on the other end of new hose and wrapped it to it's holding spot in filter compartment.

Front "cleanout/drain hose" ruptured causing water leakage during operation.
The short clean out or drain hose located next to the coin filter is connected to the rear side of the filter/ water pump housing. There is no other way short of removing the front door to reach that location . There are several youtube videos available to assist you on the procedures of removing the lid, front and control section of the washer. The process also requires the removal of the front spring clamp from the gasket or boot that connects to front to the tub. There is a special tool available for around $50.00 that makes this task every simple. I found one (new) on ebay. The replacement part runs about $4.00 and is referred to as a "hose, connector". There is , however, no connector involved. Once the items are removed, the hose can be accessed at its connection location. I found it necessary to use a box knife to cut a long shallow grove over the hose where it covered the plastic connection point to remove it. The new replacement hose fits tightly over the plastic connection and requires a small amount of dish soap applied to the installed end. This is truly an easy repair. I decided to do it myself after getting a quote from a repair shop of $229.00 . For me. it was worth the time to purchase the tool and part for less than a third of the repair bill cost and have the tool available for the next repair job.

While replacing the tub support (spider) I chose to replace the gasket.
The spider repair and the tub seal replacement are fairly complicated, and time-consuming, but manageable with patience. I viewed the youtube video that showed the process, which gave me confidence. It entails disassembling the machine and removing quite a few major pieces. Take care with the numerous screws and bolts, and be patient and you can be successful. Plan a lot of time for all the steps.
The hardest part is putting the door bellows back on.
