My dishwasher makes a loud whining noise. A repairman said it's the garburator, and I can use it the dishwasher if I can live with the noise. I've combed through four parts sites looking for one, and it's not even named. Is there another name for it?' I've wondered if it could just be disabled. I rinse my dishes thoroughly, so there wouldn't be a need for it.
I'm trying to keep it going because they say appliances are only built to last 10 years now, so older ones are better.
For model number 66515632000
Hello Mary, thank you for the great question. Based on our research, the whining noise in the dishwasher is caused by faulty pump and motor assembly. We recommend you replace the pump and motor, part number PS3500988, to fix the issue. We hope this solves your problem!
