A cutter reel, also known as a line or trimmer head, is a component that is necessary within the cutting head of a trimmer, since it supplies the trimmer with line/spool. This part is made of plastic and is an OEM part that measures approximately 4.2-inches in diameter and has 2 lanes for spool storage. Since this part is made of plastic, it can break or crack from a drop impact, or simply over time and exposure to gasoline, oil and heat. If you find that the spool is not coming out properly, or too much spool is being used at once, this part may need replacing. Replacing this part is as simple as opening the trimmer head and accessing where the spool is housed, removing the previous reel, and replacing it with the new one. This part is sold as an individual part without any securing hardware and is compatible with various makes and models of trimmer.

Kawasaki Trimmer Tube

The return fuel line is used to transfer fuel from the carburetor, back to the fuel tank. This fuel tube is designed for use with trimmers and is made of high-quality polymer and measures approximately 3.5-inches (90cm) in length, .12-inches in inner-diameter (3mm) and .24-inches in outer-diameter (6mm). This tube does not come with any securing hardware and is sold as an individual part. Although this tube is known for its strength to most chemicals like gasoline, prolonged exposure to UV rays, extreme cold or hot temperatures and certain fuel additives can cause this tube to degrade quicker. If you notice a reduction in flexibility and clarity of the material, and general brittleness to the tube, replace it immediately. Prolonged use of a fuel line that needs replacing can cause issues such as fuel leaks and engine performance issues resulting from poor fuel flow or contaminated fuel. To replace this tube for your trimmer, drain the fuel from your trimmer before simply removing it from the carburetor and grommet, and any securing hardware. You may require a push tool to install the new tube, and that should be done with the appropriate hardware to secure it to the carburetor and fuel tank grommet.

The spring is one part of a whole system, including a pulley and spool which is what a user will pull, before the recoil spring retracts it. This recoil spring is compatible with various makes and types of power equipment, and is sold as an individual OEM part, without any other hardware. This spring measures approximately 3/4-inch when wound and is made of high-quality metal. If you notice that your starter mechanism is not retracting properly, or does not have enough tension on it, the spring may be worn out or broken, which can happen over time and through normal wear and tear.
