Craftsman Log Splitter Back Plate

This back plate, also known as a wedge plate, is sourced directly from the manufacturer for use in log splitters. It is a flat, metal plate found at the rear end of the machine, with a length of 8 inches and a width of 2 inches. It provides support and stability to the log splitter during use. The plate may fail due to excessive stress, physical damage, or corrosion. If the plate has cracks, or bends, the log splitter will become unstable and unsafe to operate. The internal components of the log splitter may also fall out of alignment and cause further damage to the equipment. Use a wrench to remove the fasteners that secure the plate to the log splitter frame. Clean the mounting area and install the new plate. Reinstall the fasteners and be careful not to overtighten them as this can damage the surface of the plate.
