Product Description

Chrome Drip Bowl - 8 inch Specifications

This manufacturer-certified drip bowl is also known as a drip pan, and it is designed for use with cooktops and ranges. It sits below 8-inch burner elements and catches drips and spills from the cookware on the burner. The diameter of the drip bowl is approximately 10 inches. This replacement might appear slightly different, but it will fit your appliance. You will need no tools to complete this repair. Simply remove the burner element, remove the old bowl, line up the hole on the new bowl with the terminal block and drop it into place. Make sure the bowl is flat before reinstalling the element. While you have the element out you should inspect the terminals for corrosion, damage, or discolouration. If you notice any of those things you should also replace the element and terminal block. You will need to replace your drip bowl if it is lost, damaged, or can no longer be cleaned. This replacement part is sold individually. To extend the life of your new drip bowl we recommend you clean it regularly with soap and water. We recommend only using the recommended drip bowl for your appliance; generic versions will not fit properly which could affect the performance of your elements and cause long-term damage.

Electric coil heat not controlable
Pulled the range from the wall and unplugged the power cord. Cleaned the floor behind and under the stove.
Removed the back plate of the control panel.
Pulled the knob off and removed the wiring, I took a picture of how the old controller was connected to make sure I put all the wires on correctly.
Removed the 2 screws in front the hold the controller.
Installed the new controller in reverse order. On ours the wires would only fit on one way so the picture wasn't necessary.

Dirty, unused range. Found rusted drip bowls and one element plug that had failed.
Unplugged the range. Cleaned the top of the range using Brillo pad, 1 inch putty knife, vinegar/water, 0000 steel wool. Removed debris and build up under the stove top with the same tools.
Connected the receptacle kit per the instructions that came with it, worked very well. Install the new drip pans, cleaned the elements, let everything dry, plug it back in and tested. Worked very well.

Hi trying to order the right drip bowls but mine doesn’t measure to be six inches it measures to be about seven and a half inches is this still the part I need?
PartSelect logo
Hello Tom, what you are looking to measure should be the diameter of the outer edge where the drip bowl will be placed. The 6-inch drip bowl is found here W10196406RW, and the 8-inch can be found here WPW10196405. Best of luck with this repair!

How do I measure for a drip bowl. Inside or outside?
PartSelect logo
Hello Chris, you need to measure the inner diameter of the drip pan, or measure across the “hole” so to speak. You could also measure the size of the element to see whether you need an 8-inch or a 6-inch drip bowl. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Why do your drip bowls have holes in the middle but mine doesn’t? am I looking in the wrong place or something
PartSelect logo
Hi Sonya, this drip bowl may look different than the original, but that is because it is a replacement part and is used for different models of ranges. The manufacturer does list this W10196406RW as the 6-inch drip bowl for your unit, and WPW10196405 as the 8-inch. It should work just as well as the one you are replacing. I hope this helps!

The standard 6" and 8" drip pans are about 1/4" too big for this stove. They will not fit snugly on burners, but sit a bit high (so they are wobbly) on the stove top. I've tried several brands, but they all pose the same problem.

I am worried about ordering this replacement. I bought a set of drip pans for my stove a while ago and they were also somewhat universal. The 6" ones fit okay, but the 8" ones just wouldn't set flat not a good fit. Do you promise these will fit my Maytag stove?
For model number PER5510BAQ

Hi Suzanne, Thank you for your question. According to your manufacturer this bowl will fit your appliance and currently is the only option available. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

The drip pan that came with stove does not have an opening in the center but has opening for the element plug. The opening in the center of the drip pan looks like it would ruin the sheet metal. It is very thin there. I prefer that it doesn't have this opening. Where could I find them?
For model number WCC31430AW00

Hi Maureen, Thank you for the question. Very sorry but the manufacture only makes these drip pans with the opening in the middle. The drip pans with the closed bottom are no longer made but these will fit and work fine for the model number provided. Hope this helps!

I understand that the drip pans for this model are "universal" but I want/need drip pans that do not have vent holes in them. Are these not available anywhere or from anyone? I used to be able to get them from my local Maytag dealer but he has retired. I really want the solid ones not the vented ones!
