Product Description

Rear Drum Support Roller Kit Specifications

The drum support roller kit allows the dryer to tumble properly by supporting the drum cylinder. The kit includes two drum rollers, four tri-rings, and one palnut (or retaining washer). The kit does not include a belt or idler pulley and rollers are not sold individually. The drum support roller kit may need to be replaced if the dryer is noisy or will not tumble. The tools needed to complete this repair are a putty knife, Phillips screw driver, and a 5/16 nut driver. This is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer.

Drum would get hung up, belt would slip sometimes and there was a squeaking sound
Pull the front off. The belt was removed from idler pulley which was missing the wheel and pulled drum forward . Removed drum, replaced rear drum support roller kit and idler pulley assembly, put belt on and slid drum back in. Installed front panel, plugged in, works like a new dryer. It was very simple.

Dryer making a screeching noise. Diagnosed by removing idler pulley first, then turning the motor and learning that it was the motor that was squeaking or the blower fan.
Ordered the motor with pulley and blower wheel in case the wheel did not come free from the motor.
Took out the lint screen, took off the top and disconnected the wires for the door switch, took off the front.
Remove the idler poi and the belt and then removed the drum.
I read in other repair YouTube videos, the blower wheel sometimes is so seized onto the motor axle that you have to remove the wheel by cutting it off.
Yes, ours seized!
Cut off the motor axle with a hacksaw and then the motor and the wheel were free. This was not an issue since I had purchased both the motor and the wheel which I recommend doing anyway. Our dryer over 25 years old and it does not have many electrical components, which I love. We removed the parts put in the new parts. Follow the wiring diagram to get the new motor hooked up.
Then I replaced the drum support rollers, which were a snap and then we put it all back together.
We added an extra step because we had to takeoff the back of the dryer to gain access to the blower. It turned out to be a good thing since years of lint have been trapped at the bottom of the lint chute.
I cleaned everything, washed everything and put it all back together and it purrs like a kitten.
Took us about 2 1/2 hours total since we are very cautious and slow as we didn’t want to break things.
I am very happy with the end result and hopefully it will last another 25 years!
Parts were spot on and worked perfectly.
Much more economical than buying a new dryer for $750-$1000.

Dryer stopped spinning
The dryer quit working. I did some trouble shooting on your amazing site, ordered what i thought it might need and then got to work. Took no time to get it apart and replace roller kit and belt. What took the longest was getting in there and cleaning out probably 15 years worth of dirt and dust. If you have not opened your dryer up and done this, 10/10 recommend, because in doing so i found that the motor was the real culprit. Once i opened it up more, especially cleaning around the blower fan and motor, i was half a day in. Put it all back together and got it running for two more loads before the motor quit. Replaced that and since the hard work was done, had it back in in half an hour and running great. Probably will need to redo the felt seal one day, but for now, i am calling it a win. This is my go to site for all things and i have been able to work on most of my major appliances and do it myself using the helpful information here.

Loud banging coming from drum area.
I watched a U Tube video about banging sound from dryer. Once I recognized the problem, lifted the top, removed 2 screws holding the front, removed the drum, and bingo. Saw the worn out drum roller. Ordered the replacement parts from "PartSelect" on line (Great Company). Was in no hurry, so I chose regular mail delivery. 4 days later, got the correct replacement parts, put the dryer back together, and now, the dryer is quieter then when I bought it new, a thousand years ago. I will never again be afraid to tackle an appliance issue. THANK YOU !!!

Motor failure
Followed the video instructions to replace motor, belt, and rollers (belt and rollers looked to be in ok shape, but as long as I had the thing open I figured I might as well). Fairly straightforward procedure. Trickiest parts were getting the rear roller clips in place and re-attaching the rear motor spring clip. Probably could've found a used dryer of comparable quality for less, but this was easier and more satisfying than moving dryers in and out of the basement.

the directions didn't say I needed clips to hold the felt in place while I did the glue
Once I started using a bunch of clothespins to hold the felt in place and then started gluing small sections at a time I was able to complete the task. The glue comes out of the tube very quickly so don't squeeze it a lot.

I purchased this kit and am ready to do the repair but what else do you suggest me “checking out” while I’ve got the machine opened up? It’s an older dryer and id rather get it all done in one go.
PartSelect logo
Hi Doyle, we recommend replacing the pulley and the belt when you replace the rollers. There is a maintenance kit for this, and it is part number 4392065. It includes all three replacement parts mentioned above. Best of luck with this repair!

After hearing a thumping sound in my dryer I replaced the support rollers and idler pulley using this kit but I’m still hearing the noise, what next?
PartSelect logo
Hello Nadrina, great question! If you have already replaced your support rollers and idler pulley and are still having no luck, we recommend checking your blower wheel and the tumbler. With the blower wheel, you are checking to make sure there is nothing caught in it, or that it is not damaged. With the tumbler, you are checking to make sure it is not out of round. I hope this helps!

Today I received the rear drum support roller kit, part number ps347627, that I ordered for our Whirlpool dryer model number le7800xsn1 with a serial number of m74107427. Unfortunately the packet did not contain any instructions and I have not received an answer to the questions I submitted on january 29, 2019 at the time I ordered the parts. Before I begin to install the new rollers I would like you to tell me what product would be best to use to thoroughly clean the gummy substance off of the drum support roller shafts. Also, I expect the original grease is what eventually got gummy so I would like to know what product should now be used to re lubricate the parts when I re assemble the dryer using the new rollers.
For model number LE7800XSN1

Hello Maurice, Thank you for the question. You can just use a mild dish soap to remove any build up. When replacing the shaft and roller, grease is not required. Here are a few links on how to install the roller and shaft. Hope this helps! https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=439&v=Ku3rkNErqTA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QIHirXRzpA
