This is a grease filter compatible with various microwaves. Grease filters are used to collect food grease and prevent buildups on the internal components of the microwave, such as the fans and other electronics. This grease filter is made of mesh and measures 7.5 inches long by 5 inches wide. If your current microwave grease filter is clogged with grease and not able to be easily cleaned, it should be replaced. This filter can be replaced easily by pulling on its D-clasp and pushing the new filter into place. Depending on how many filters your microwave uses, you may want to consider how many you need before ordering. This filter is an OEM part and is sold individually.

How do I reset filter?
For model number JVM6175SK5SS
Hi Phyllis, thank you for reaching out. The charcoal/grease filter should be replaced when it is noticeably dirty/discolored (usually after 6-12 months, depending on hood usage) or the filter replacement LED is on. When the Filter Replace LED is turned on, replace the filter and press Reset Filter, and hold for 3 seconds to reset. We hope this information helps!

While removing 40W the bulb broke away from plastic. How do I remove broken plastic do I can reinsert bulbs?
For model number JVM3160DF5CC
Hi Ima,
Thank you for your question. If the plastic piece you are referring to is part of the socket, part number PS8753748, then the socket will need to replaced. Here are some instructions that may help you with your repair. Before beginning this repair, unplug the microwave from the electrical outlet. Then unthread the screws securing the bottom panel so you can release it. Then note how the wires are attached to the turntable motor and the slide off the insulators. Then depress the locking tabs to disconnect the wires. With the wires removed, you can lower the panel. Then note how the wires are attached to the light socket and depress the locking tabs to disconnect the wires. Then unthread the screw securing the old light socket. Then position the new light socket by positioning it on the light housing and secure it with the mounting screw. Then reconnect the wires to correct terminals on the light socket. Then reconnect the turntable wires to the correct terminals and slide on the insulators. The lift bottom panel up and secure it with the screws. Then thread the new light bulb into the socket and insert the light cover and secure it with the screws. Restore the power to the microwave and the repair is complete. We hope this helps!
