My Samsung microwave starting shutting off while running. Then it would only start intermittently. Now it won't start at all. Makes a clicking sound briefly when you push start. Light comes on, but that's it. The 3 switches in the door latch sound OK when I push the buttons in. Any other suggestions as to what it could be?

Hello Richard, thank you for contacting us. If your microwave is not starting, then the issue is most likely with the door switches or the thermostat. You should test the door switches with a multimeter to see if they are working correctly, they should read 0 ohms to be working. Also, check the thermostat and then replace the damaged component to resolve the problem. If you require assistance to place an order, please contact customer service. We hope that helps!

... Read moret PS4229162 "door key" $6.67 then followed the instructions on a youtube video by zimsjeep "Repair a Broken Microwave Door Latch" to install. At first I struggled a bit hooking up the spring to the frame, but then I used a slim plier to hold the spring (instead of my fingers) and that did the trick.
Removed control panel, discharged HV capacitor. Removed old diode, tested to confirm failure. Replaced part. Other than the removal of the panel swapping the part was almost as easy as replacing a light bulb.
I removed the body latch assembly and found the bottom micro switch (NC) terminal burnt and loose. I replaced and working perfectly fine now. Easy diagnose and easy repair.
