When it starts to fill with water the water keeps draining out and it’s constantly losing the detergent and the code comes up as e4 but i followed all the info to solve it an i even put a new inlet hose with new fixtures and clean the thing that sits in the part where the inlet hose gets attached to the washer but i’m still losing water. Not sure what to do an i can’t find my manual to trouble shoot.
For model number HLP23E
Hi Eileen, thank you for your question. If your water level is not reaching where it is supposed to be, you might want to check the water inlet valve for being the issue. The valve can be tested with a multi meter and should be reading between 500 - 1500 ohms of resistance. Good luck with your repair.

Haier HLP23 drainage system problem: direct drainage when water is injected
For model number HLP23E
Hello GuiFu, Thank you for the question. If the appliance drains the same time as it is filling, this is called the Syphon Effect. We suggest checking the drain hose to make sure it is not seated to high. The hose should not be higher then the water level in the drum. Also make sure the Hose is secure with the clamps. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!

Common Symptoms of the HLP23E

The water stopped draining.
I emptied all the water with a cup and laid the washer down on its back on the bathroom floor, ( it is a portable), with a few small pots and rags handy to collect water, just in case.
I inspected the placement of the broken drain pump, I took photographs of all the wires placements and screws. I removed the broken drain pump pho ... Read more tographing each step, then attached the new drain pump following each step in reverse and attached the 2 colored wires to the remains of the colored wires attached to the washer. I used electric tape to isolate and cover completely the exposed wires parts i joined. I then screwed everything back in place. I put the washer upright, connected the electrical cord and did a test. It is working great, and the water is draining well! It took me over 30 minutes, as the space under the machine, where the drain pump lodges, is quite tight and I needed a flash light.

Washer wouldn't drain.
Lifted up the washer from the bottom. Accessed the pump, unscrewed the motor and pulled off the rubber hose attached to the pump using a Phillips screwdriver and a wrench.
Reattached the hose and the mounting screws. Worked just fine.
