The door will not stay closed. There's still the metallic click noise that indicates it should be closed, but it doesn't stick. Is there a solution to this?

Hello Brian, thank you for your inquiry. According to our research, we would recommend checking the door strike for any damage. If it is fine, then the issue is most probably with the latch, part number PS2349356. It attaches to the pedestal cabinet and engages the drawer strike to keep the drawer closed. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. Glad to be of help!

The Pedestal Latch Broke
I found the right part by looking at YouTube videos. Ordered from PartSelect and it arrived within a week. I looked at directions PartSelect had given to others and I also re-watched the videos. To remove the pedestal drawer you need a Phillips screwdriver and an adjustable wrench or the exact size spanner or a socket set (if you have straight-on access which I didn't). I didn't feel like going out to the hardware store so I used my Felco Pruners to remove and reinstall the pedestal drawer. I just held the nut gently in the jaws of the pruners and it worked great for the removal and not quite as well for the reinstall of the drawer, but still ok under the circumstances. The most valuable piece of advice that PartSelect gave someone else is which side of the pedestal latch goes up. It's the side that has an extra indentation. Now that I've put in the new pedestal latch, I'm never using the pedestal drawers again. I've moved all my laundry supplies to baskets on the counter, because I read reports from others that these latches break all the time and I don't relish replacing a $55 part every year or so. However, I'm grateful to PartSelect for having the part, providing instructions, and shipping in a timely manner.

Broken latch on the pedistle drawer.
I slid the unit out from the wall. I tilted it back against the wall to access the latch. I blocked the drawer open and used a phillips screwdriver to remove and replace the latch.
