Door switch inconsistent operation for Open/Close sensing.
Ordered top & bottom micro-switches and mounting plate parts. Internet reviews could not find specifics if the issue was due to a top/bottom or combination of micro-switch or mounting plate failure. Pulled the plug. Removed the top vent assembly cover held in by 2 Phillips screws inside the vent. Removed the control panel held in by 1 Phillip screw at the top vent assembly area. Lifted control panel upward to release the catch and moved it off to the side - didn't disconnect any leads. Used a Torx bit to remove the door switch mounting plates at the front and pulled the plates through the opening from the control panel. Documented the wire color code connections, the top plate uses 2 micro's with one using both the closed & open contact. Installed the respective micros on the mounting plates and worked backwards with the wiring and removal steps. Once completed, the open/close sensing has worked every time.

Microwave Door Assembly
I made a few trips to Loews before finally purchasing a dremel and was able to grind down the excess metal on the pegs. Once that was complete the door assembly fell right into place.
Note: You do have to take the squire plastic interior frame piece out to have extra room to fit the top peg in. Once the door locks into the frame holes just pop the plastic frame back in and your are done. Read more...

Metal pegs for replacement door were not cut down to correct length
It was clear that the metal pegs that sit in the microwave frame were not cut down to the right size. The cut line was there but there was extra metal material. I made a few trips to Loews before finally purchasing a dremel and was able to grind down the excess metal on the pegs. Once that was complete the door assembly fell right into place.

The door panel and grille vent are plastic and thay both cracked and fell apart due to cheap plastic parts from GE.
Removed the screws at the top of vent and took the vent off and then removed the door by lifting it off the hinge. I had to break the old plastic door frame to get it off, but since it was no good anyway it didnt matter. Then I put the glass in the new frame put the handle on it and snapped the frame on to the door and put it back on the door hinge and then put the new vent on and screwed it down and closed the door. Job was not to hard at all.

Inner door glass EXPLODED while preheating!
Easy peasy. After using the shop vac to remove the glass fragments, 8 Phillips head screws were all that I had to remove. The schematic on this website was close enough, but I recommend taking pictures as you disassemble. The major plastic frame was broken at the screw hole support. I was sent the wrong part and found out the part I needed was no longer made and would have to buy a new door for $150.
The wrong part was under $20. When I found out I had to replace the whole door for $150. I decided DYI was the way to go. I used JB weld and the door looks and works like a charm. Give plenty of time to cure all water needs to be cured out if exposed to microwaves. No problems so far.
